FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE:

◄ Hebrews 12:1-2 ►

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

HOLY SPIRIT, HAVE YOUR WAY.

TOPIC: RUNNING OUR RACE WITH ENDURANCE.

Life can sometimes be intense and challenging. Yes, we get those moments of elation, but also times of fatigue, obstacles, and moments when giving up seems tempting. Today, Hebrews 12:1-2 gives us a profound blueprint for running this race with endurance and purpose. We are not alone; we are surrounded by a "great cloud of witnesses"—the saints who have run their races faithfully before us, cheering us on.

Our spiritual journey is a strategic race with eternal implications and we're competing with purpose.

To run this race effectively, we must first "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles." This means letting go of the burdens and distractions that weigh us down. Whether it's fear, doubt, or sin, we are called to release them and embrace the freedom Christ offers.

The key to enduring this race lies in our focus—fixing our eyes on Jesus Christ, our ultimate example. Christ endured the cross, driven by the joy set before Him—the joy of our salvation and reconciliation with God. His endurance gives us the strength and inspiration to persevere, no matter the trials we face.

So, we must start seeing ourselves as marathon runners, surrounded by a supportive crowd, each cheering with encouragement. Our eyes fixed on the finish line, our hearts set on the goal.

MUST DO :

1. Release Dead weights : Identify and let go of the things that hinder your spiritual growth.

2. Focus on Jesus Christ : Make a conscious effort to fix your eyes on Jesus Christ daily through prayer, worship, and meditation of His Word.

3. Persevere with Faith : Draw strength from Christ's example and the testimonies of others to keep running your race with endurance.

1) Prayer of repentance and forgiveness

"People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy." Proverbs 28:13.

Confess your sins and shortcomings. Ask God for forgiveness.

2) Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me. Sharpen my spiritual focus. Help me to release the unnecessary burdens that weigh me down and to fix my eyes on Christ.

3) Almighty God, give me the strength and perseverance to run this race with endurance, keeping my heart set on the joy of Your eternal promise. In Jesus Christ's Name, amen.
