This year’s competition, on Friday, March 15, 2024, is focused on the next generation of fearless founders innovating and diversifying #MedTech and will include a special focus on innovations addressing pediatric populations. Ryan Nolan is a champion of pediatric medical technologies, applying his experience as an entrepreneur in this space to mentor this year’s #MTC Pitch Competition companies.

MedTech Color Annual Pitch Competition is a foundational start for early-stage #MedTech companies, dedicated to diversifying and innovating the industry. Over the past three years, the competition has received 250 applications, invested in thirty companies, and awarded over $865,000 in cash and in-kind services to diverse founders. The top prize winners for 2021-2023 are African American women-led startups targeting mental health, showcasing the commitment to inclusivity and innovation. Ryan is excited to support this mission by volunteering his time and expertise.

An impactful Leader in Reimbursement and Market Access

Ryan Nolan brings over a decade of experience in clinical operations and reimbursement to his role as PRIA Healthcare Director of RVMA. Ryan holds a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering (MEng) from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. His commitment to excellence is underscored by his certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) by the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA).  

Expertise in Navigating the Complex Product Journey

With a background that includes co-founding the pediatric medical device company, PhotoniCare, and leading all reimbursement and clinical operations for the company as it grew from a start-up to its current, post-market commercialization stage, Ryan has a firsthand understanding of the challenges MedTech companies face in their journey from concept to adoption. His experience in engaging with key stakeholders such as the FDA, health insurance payers, and specialty societies positions him as an ideal candidate to work with organizations, like MedTech Color, as a mentor and judge. Allowing him to pass his torch of knowledge to the next generation of founders.
