SAGE : 7 years of success in Switzerland

It has now been seven years since I was entrusted with the responsibility of Sage in Switzerland as CEO.

With a very talented team and an incredible amount of work we turned around a difficult situation into a tremendous success.

In Switzerland the Sage brand is synonymous with business software for SMB’s and is serving more than 50’000 happy customers.

The transition into the cloud and introducing successful new business models like subscription was achieved whilst reducing costs to improve our margins.

Working like a local SMB, with 200 Sage colleagues in Switzerland in the various departments: from R&D to marketing, from finance to HR, from support to administration, all managed locally.

It is testimony indeed that in Switzerland real innovation and increased productivity justifies the higher cost base.

Sage will now enter into a new phase, requiring different skills and I am very happy that the leadership of Sage Switzerland has passed to Marc Ziegler, member of our Swiss management team since many years.

I am now ready to take up new challenges and lead an organization facing up to the reality of doing business in today’s harsh environment. Here, I am convinced my general management skills and natural leadership style can support a wide variety of businesses.

Putting people at the center of the company’s performance is crucial to be able to face today’s challenges, let’s never forget - it is our people that are the true engine of innovation.
