Salary - to publish or to not? Is this really a thing?

Salary - to publish or to not? Is this really a thing?

Look, folks, let me tell you something. This whole topic of salary ranges in job ads, it's being talked about like it's some kind of magical solution. They say it's all about bringing higher standards to recruitment, but let me tell you, that's not the most important thing right now. Believe me, I see it more as a branding tactic than something that actually adds value for both candidates and businesses. I mean, really, publishing salary ranges in job ads? It's not the game-changer they make it out to be.

You know, the IT industry, they're the ones who made this into a big deal. They think programmers are clueless about salaries and that not having salary ranges in job ads is some kind of disrespect. But come on, we're living in the age of Glassdoor and extensive networking. These guys know how to find the information they need. Trust me.

And let me tell you about this recent campaign by a job portal, telling people not to apply for positions without salary ranges. Total disaster, folks. Just look at the numbers. We have over 360,000 IT professionals in Poland, but only a fraction of them supported this campaign. I'm not buying it. And this same job portal, they allow such wide salary ranges in their ads that transparency goes out the window.

Now, let's talk about the EU directive. They're making a big fuss about pay equality, but it's not just about the gender pay gap. They want to force employers to disclose minimum and maximum salaries, but that won't solve the real problem.

The issue is when companies don't give fair raises to long-time employees based on market rates. That's where transparency and pay equality come into play. And let me tell you, this directive, it's a lot of talk but not much action.

What we really need, folks, is transparent pay policies and fair compensation based on market standards. Candidates want opportunities for growth and a level playing field. It's about creating a workforce where everyone gets a fair shot. So, forget about publishing salary ranges in job ads. Let's focus on building a system that rewards hard work and treats employees right. That's how we'll truly transform the labor market, not just in IT, but across the board. Believe me.
