Iran has made progressive steps towards building a nuclear weapon. Their intentions for nuclear energy are clear in that they want to utilize this nuclear weapon to attack Israel and terrorize its neighbors. The United States has imposed restrictions on activities with Iran under a plethora of legal auspices since 1979. These sanctions are after the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. Since this seizure of the US Embassy, America and Iran have not had diplomatic relations.

Since July, Iran has broadcasted its intentions to further build its nuclear program in areas  that have no acceptable civilian reasoning behing it. Iran’s has taken  steps to enrich its nuclear capacity in violation of application international law. Iran has been uncooperative with the international authorities. The ruling powers of Iran has refused to state a shift in its bellicose nuclear doctrine.

The United States has taken proactive steps against those corporations and shipping that interacts with the Iranian petroleum and petrochemical trade. The Department of State imposed sanctions on three corporations who were heavily entangled in the Iranian petroleum economy and petrochemical products. The Department of State has also flagged 11 vessels that are embroiled with these corporations and has deemed them blocked property. The American government should already hold true to the notion that Iran is an enemy of peace and should never be allow to build  a nuclear weapon.

The progress of Iran’s intended nuclear armament must be halted at all costs. There must be the full projection of American diplomatic power to make sure that a nuclear weapon is never built on Iran’s soil to be used against Israel or any of its neighbors.
