Saurabh is changing the way buildings, people, and industries use energy

"I believe 'A Watt saved is equivalent to a Watt generated.'"

This is the mantra of Energy Engineer Saurabh Shekhadar. It's what motivates him today and led him to pursue his passion for energy efficiency and sustainability at ICF.

Data centers are physical locations, like buildings of employment, that house IT and computing services. As our world increases its use of information technology, so does the energy it takes to power these systems. Experts like Saurabh are working to improve its consumption to impact our environment positively.

Saurabh got his undergraduate at COEP Technological University in Pune, Maharashtra, India, and has a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. He was also an intern at ICF before joining full-time in 2021. For him, it was the job he had always dreamt of since the start of his graduate program.

Most recently, Saurabh wanted to take his impact on energy to the next level and decided to pursue certification as a Data Centre Professional, awarded by the Global Association for Quality Management (GAQM).

"ICF is a big consulting company, and there are a plethora of opportunities to join and grow in the organization. This certification allowed me to explore energy savings in data centers, the most energy-intensive buildings on the planet."

Saurabh is thankful to have the opportunity to pursue his educational interests, and he's especially grateful to his manager, who encouraged him to achieve this certification. With it, Saurabh can make an even more significant impact on how we use energy for future generations.
