Saving costs – changing lives

Partnering with Lewisham Council on the Excalibur Estate project provided an interesting guardian solution.  The properties were 186 prefab bungalows, built in 1946 to ease the housing shortage problem during World War II.

When Lewisham Council consulted residents and shaped plans to build 371 houses and flats in place of 186 prefabs, the demolition was delayed as the English Heritage granted Listed Building status to six homes.  As residents gradually started moving, it left many old units empty.

By partnering with Global Guardians, we were able to provide working professionals as Guardians, reducing the chance of vandalism and squatters.

Working together meant that Lewisham Council saved over £24 million.
