Saving Costs for Payers and Parents

Saving Costs for Payers and Parents

Bringing over 12 years of healthcare industry expertise, Saliha Javid serves as Hello Pediatrics' Director of Payer Success & Credentialing. Her extensive background spans various healthcare sectors, including large hospital physician groups, behavioral health, urgent care, multi-specialty practices, and radiology. As a mother herself, Saliha highlights how Hello Pediatrics meets the needs of mothers and payers alike.

Based on your experiences in the health industry, which areas do you believe could benefit from improvement?

Healthcare providers often face frustration due to administrative burdens, bureaucracy, and delays from the start of their interactions with health plans during credentialing. This process negatively impacts provider satisfaction. To enhance their market position, health plans should focus on improving the overall experience for providers. This not only benefits providers themselves but also has positive effects on patients and regulatory bodies. When healthcare providers are satisfied and enthusiastic about their partnership with a health plan, it creates a positive feedback loop. This, in turn, improves patient care and satisfaction right from the beginning, starting with effective provider credentialing.

What motivated you to become part of Hello Pediatrics?

When I'm not working, I am a devoted mother to my wonderful child. Knowing that I can affordably access care for my child during after-hours, weekends, and holidays is a huge relief. It means skipping the long waits at the ER, which is a win-win situation for us (and payers). I am passionate about supporting and growing organizations like Hello Pediatrics so that many other parents, like me, can benefit from the expertise of highly qualified physicians.

Why are payers interested in Hello Pediatrics?

Hello Pediatrics is a model of exceptional care, offering services at significantly lower costs compared to visits to hospitals or urgent care centers. This approach not only ensures high-quality healthcare but also makes it more accessible and affordable for patients.

Why are payers continuing to focus on telehealth after the pandemic?

Payers are increasingly using telehealth to provide effective care to their members while saving costs for employers and members. Telehealth offers significant cost-saving opportunities by reducing the need for extensive diagnostic procedures typical of in-person visits. Additionally, the cost per consultation for telehealth is lower than for traditional in-person visits, contributing to overall savings in healthcare expenditures.
