You’d expect a chef to be into food, but we pretty big fans here at Sears Davies too. Ben decamps to his kitchen at precisely 1 pm every day to rustle up a gourmet lunch. Mark is famous for his Meatza. Mike is living out his fantasy of being a TV chef by posting cooking videos on Instagram. 

Thuy has introduced us to bubble tea in recent years. Steven has taught us to enjoy our coffee the Italian way with cappuccinos before lunch and espressos after. We’re still waiting for him to share his much talked about pig’s cheeks pasta recipe, which was the deciding factor in him joining the team earlier this month.

The crowning manifestation of the Sears Davies food obsession (and a founding principle of Julian’s leadership) is the annual pilgrimage to one of London’s fine eating establishments, otherwise known as the Christmas Party.

Over the years, we’ve sampled Michelin starred curries, eaten chocolate-flavoured beef burgers, and spent hours looking for that fantastic bar that “used to be good in the 80s” because no one is ready to go home yet.

Covid has put the kibosh on this decades-old tradition for a couple of years, but we’re finally back together, at Kerridge’s Bar & Grill, for the postponed 2021 company Christmas feast.

We're big fans of modern technology and flexible working, but there really is no substitute for being together, sharing an authentic experience with colleagues you like and actually enjoy spending time with.
