In the past, the proportion of scrap steel was calculated manually, which was time-consuming, laborious and inaccurate. Now what kind of steel is to be smelted by the converter, the scrap supply control system can formulate the corresponding 'ordering formula' according to the preset model, and realize intelligent supply, which is convenient, fast and accurate.

The scrap steel control system can select different scrap steel combination supply "recipes" according to the plan.

As the main raw material for converter steelmaking, scrap steel plays an important role in safety and environmental protection, production capacity improvement, and cost control. It is also the main regulatory measure under the mode of saving iron and increasing steel.

The original scrap steel collection method in the steelmaking plant was a one-time collection, which could not distinguish the types of scrap steel. It was entered manually based on on-site estimates, resulting in inaccurate calculation of various types of scrap steel. Moreover, the scrap steel yard cannot classify and store scrap steel types such as briquettes, internally adjusted cutting heads, iron blocks, self-produced heavy-duty steel, self-produced slag steel, etc. All types of scrap steel are mixed and stored, which affects the loading speed and accurate classification.

At present, all four converters in the new area of the steelmaking plant have realized automatic steelmaking without intervention in the entire process.

The scrap steel control system can automatically send information such as the type and weight of scrap steel in the scrap steel hopper to the secondary computer of the corresponding converter, and automatically carry out oxygen blowing smelting and batch cutting.

Like the operation model in converter intelligent steelmaking, the formulation of the ‘intelligent recipe ordering’ model is a difficult and key link.

The steelmaking plant regards the zoning storage and classification collection transformation of scrap steel as an important part of promoting the construction of smart steel plants. The engineering and technical personnel formulated a detailed and feasible transformation plan in line with the principle of saving, speed and efficiency, and re-divided the scrap storage area into zoning areas. A series of technical modifications were carried out such as positioning and weighing of cranes and flatbed transport vehicles, and it took two months to build an automatic scrap steel classification and collection system.

The execution instructions are transmitted to the scrap steel operating vehicle. During hoisting operations, the collection system will automatically determine and record the type and weight of scrap steel based on positioning, as well as the number of scrap steel flatbed trucks added.

Scrap steel can be stored in zones, accurately classified, and accurately collected, which can provide accurate material information for material balance and heat balance calculations in converter smelting, thereby reducing the number of process splashes and improving the converter end-point hit rate. Especially when smelting high-end varieties of steel, the precise supply of raw materials allows them to effectively ensure the rate of smelting the varieties of steel.

Scrap steel is supplied on demand, which not only reduces steel material consumption by 0.15 kilograms per ton of steel and increases annual benefits by 1.8 million yuan, but also enables fast-paced loading of large amounts of scrap steel, meeting the requirements for saving iron and increasing steel during the heating season, and increasing unit consumption of scrap steel. , which can increase benefits by more than 5 million yuan per year.
