How does one stay Thankful when the LORD Calls Home a Beloved Brother or Loved One ?
We can by the Indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT Who alone opens our eyes to the Salvation our Brother know fully sees upon the ending of His Earthly Assignment ordained before the Beginning of Time.
We are all physically Heartbroken for sure, and yet for real, Assured in Christ, our Brother and Loved One is Home with HIM, Because of HIM.
So, yes, Though Heartbroken, we Rejoyce!
A year ago a Kind brother suggested the services are a bit long and he gets to read only a portion of the message.
I am very thankful for this input, and would humbly suggest skipping the Service part and going to the Lesson only if you need to.
The Service is something I started pre-Pandemic, and I started including it again in 2020, and found many like the Service, though we do not want this to take the place of going to a weekly service, it is still a resource meant to provide a Worship Service for all, and at any time.

First Reading
Psalm 9
1 ¶ <<For the choir director; on Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.>> I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.
2 I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
3 When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You.
4 For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously.
5 You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
6 The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished.
7 But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,
8 And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.
9 The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble;
10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 ¶ Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds.
12 For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
13 Be gracious to me, O LORD; See my affliction from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,
14 That I may tell of all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.
15 The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made; In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.
16 The LORD has made Himself known; He has executed judgment. In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. Higgaion Selah.
17 The wicked will return to Sheol, Even all the nations who forget God.
18 For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.
19 Arise, O LORD, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You.
20 Put them in fear, O LORD; Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.

The LORD’S Prayer
Matthew 6:9 ¶ And Jesus said "In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Second Reading “A Season Of Thanksgiving, Thankful For Our Salvation In Christ Alone”
Galatians 1
1 ¶ Paul, an apostle (not sent from men nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead),
2 and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia:
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
4 who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5 to whom be the glory forevermore. Amen.

6 ¶ I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;
7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!
9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
10 ¶ For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
11 For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it;
14 and I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my ancestral traditions.
15 But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased
16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,
17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to Damascus.
18 Then three years later I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days.
19 But I did not see any other of the apostles except James, the Lord's brother.
20 (Now in what I am writing to you, I assure you before God that I am not lying.)
21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 I was still unknown by sight to the churches of Judea which were in Christ;
23 but only, they kept hearing, "He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once tried to destroy."
24 And they were glorifying God because of me.

Homily “A Season Of Thanksgiving, Thankful For Our Salvation In Christ Alone”
What are you most thankful for this year?
I need to be honest this has been a bit of a tough year, and yet I am truly thankful for the Salvation given to me by the LORD in our Savior and LORD Jesus Christ.
One of the themes of the Bible as we looked at in our 10 week series on “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide” had to do with the very point Paul is making hear in the opening of Galatians.
Paul clearly tells us who saved who hear and that it was not he who sought Christ, but as in all of our salvation accounts the LORD who chose us from the beginning of time.
Paul goes from the greatest Destroyer of the Church in his time to the Greatest Apostle and all do to the work of Jesus Christ alone.
What is neat is that once the LORD opens our eyes, HE also walks to live a life consistent with such Regeneration.
One of the books that helps me during a tough stretch is the Book of Job, as we get to watch Job during struggle after struggle and in all things Job did not curse GOD.
But something Job indeed did was to have an honest conversation with the LORD, and why not the LORD already knows what is on our mind and Jesus reminds us of such and actually cautions us against the Pius dishonest prayer we hear so many times;
Mt 6:5 ¶ "When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
6 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
7 "And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.
8 "So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
As HE leads us to the LORD’s Prayer.
So this Thanksgiving I am indeed most thankful for my Wife and my Salvation In Christ Alone.
Please take some to read through Job, and Thank the LORD for the blessing HE has bestowed on us.

Approach the Feast of The LORD
1st Corinthians 11:23 ¶ For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.
27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
