Secrete Sauce for going viral on LinkedIn

Secrete Sauce for going viral on LinkedIn

The secret sauce is pretty secret!

LinkedIn Gurus keep researching and revealing what they believe would work.

LinkedIn team however keeps challenging them by very secretly maneuvering it Algorithm.

As a LinkedIn Optimization service professional, I need to stay in the game. I follow influencers and observe their behaviors.

Neil Patel is one of the most followed online marketing guru. He works with global brands such as Amazon, GP, HP and many others to increase their online revenue. He suggests posting more frequently, repeat content several times so that every time you post, it can reach to new viewers.

Shanee Moret, prefers content that tells stories, real stories to attract views. In the last two years she grew her following to over 800K. Her content is followed and liked. She generates business and helps her clients achieve their goals on LinkedIn.

I did a random data collection on the following influencers to try to build some correlation on the number of followers, number of times content posted and engagement (likes and comments).

1.      Anthony J James 1987000 followers. He posted 142 times in a week. Engagement on last five posts 7250.

2.      Gary V 4493587 followers. He posted 19 times in a week. Engagement on last five posts, 6058.

3.      Arianna Huffington 9680772 followers. She posted 16 times in a week. Engagement on last five posts, 8497.

4.      Shay Rowbottom 549668 followers. She posted 14 times in a week. Engagement on last five posts, 4030.

5.      Shanee Moret 808111 followers, She posted 20 times in a week. Engagement on last five posts 5320.

They all have their own way of creating content, own frequency and community. In my view posting too much, too frequently and having a large following does not mean that content will see bigger engagement too!

That brings me to the same question, what type of content generates most engagement?

In my experience, there is no secrete sauce. Consistent posting is essential. As far as content type is concerned, experiment with what best works for you. And is it nicely aligned with your ultimate goal on LinkedIn?

My secret sauce for my clients is creating content that is relevant and targeted to their goals!

Disclaimer Note: Scope of this small research was to understand and help LinkedIn users in their efforts to reach to larger audience. I tried to be as accurate as possible in reading the data from these profiles, any error or omission is not deliberate – I regret if mistakenly happened.
