See you at Cypher 2023
The sixth edition of Cypher got bigger, better, and more impactful in ways one could only imagine. With over 100+ speakers spread across three different halls for three consecutive days, the event witnessed about 1000+ attendees and 300+ data-driven and AI-focused organisations from India and across the globe.
This has been the biggest Cypher to date, and in-person after three years. It is only going to grow onwards and upwards from here on in.
Interestingly, we conceptualised this year’s Cypher, blending art and AI. Every creative made for Cypher, including the hoardings, posters, banners, videos, etc., was made using the text-to-image AI tool, Midjourney – showing people a glimpse of the future of innovation.
Not just that, we even organised an ‘AI Artathon,’ where the participants got to experience the text-to-image tool first-hand, alongside winning exciting prizes and goodies. The experience was phenomenal.
At Cypher 2022, the MachineHack team launched MH Wordle, the world’s first AI/ML vocabulary-based Wordle game, and ran multiple contests and rewards.
While the AI conference was bound to be technology-and-knowledge heavy with information overload, we ensured to keep it light for our audience by fusing it with sports and literature, with Kapil Dev and Chetan Bhagat sharing their views on AI and analytics, alongside life lessons, motivational talks, and more.
We also had Bengaluru’s folk-rock band Swarathma performing at this year’s Cypher. Interestingly, it was no ordinary performance; the band used advanced visual and lighting tools to add magic to their show, encapsulating the spirit of Cypher 2022.
In addition, we organised an AI Quiz (AIQ) led by Quizmaster Adittya Nath Mubayi, followed by an evening filled with laughter with Biswa Kalyan Rath, a techie-turned-standup comedian. We also had a motivational speaker and life coach Santhosh Babu at this year's Cypher, where he helped people unleash their true potential via hypnosis.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone – the team, sponsors, council leaders and others – for being part of the event and making it a grand success. We could not have done it without your help and support. A special thanks to the event and creative/video team for working tirelessly and bringing imagination to life.
Congratulations to all the winners of the ‘Data Science Excellence Award 20222,’ ‘Most Prominent Analytics & Data Science Academicians In India,’ and ‘Best Firm Awards.’
This is just the beginning of a new revolution in AI and analytics in India.
Next year, we will be back with a much bigger and better AI and analytics conference.
See you at Cypher 2023 :)

Will the Adobe-Figma Deal Survive Threat of Antitrust Regulation?
Two weeks ago, subscription-based software company Adobe announced that it would buy collaborative design startup Figma for a hefty USD 20 billion in a half stock and half cash deal. News outlets quickly pulled up an old tweet by Figma CEO Dylan Field from January last year when Field had ironically stated, “Our goal is to be Figma, not Adobe.” When asked about the tweet, Field responded by saying that he continues to stand by his claim while defending Figma’s independence.
But there’s more than enough reason for the deal to draw the ire of antitrust regulators. Read the complete story here .
