Locate Your Krishna, Locate Your Success

Today we need more mentors and coaches with the true shades of Krishna, who can act as a catalysts and accelerator in helping startup entrepreneurs discover themselves.

The first mentors in anyone's life are their parents. They impart you with the fundamental values of life. These moral, ethical values help you build your character, personality and the individual you are. Let's not confuse teaching and mentoring with each other. A teachers helps acquire skills while mentor helps reach the goals.

It is said that all mentors are teachers but not all teachers are mentors

Everyone needs mentor at some point of their life. For entrepreneurs, a mentor is someone who can influence, guide and help their startup to become successful.  It is tough to find a good mentor who can help the entrepreneurs to realise their true potential.

Mentors can provide specific insights and information that enable the entrepreneurs success. They find a way to stimulate growth.

Every entrepreneurs wants to change the world for better and to be a better person. Their mind is their best friend and their worst enemy, too. Once the mentor understands the entrepreneur as an individual and their goals then they are best suited to offer advise. Three important decisions (check the image) every entrepreneurs have to make and they need mentors help on each priority controls the outcome for their startup business.

Having a mentor is not a sign of weakness; it shows you are smart enough and are driven enough to succeed.

Example: Krishna as a mentor

Mentoring is not a new idea. Mahabharata narrates the saga of Kurukshetra War between the Kaurava and the Pandava princes. It is a vast treasure of knowledge & wisdom. It provides an insightful strategic management learning for various business situations that an entrepreneur experiences. Drona taught Arjuna skills in archery and discipline, while Krishna helped Arjuna understand the real world and make wise decisions at key points in his life, and was always there to help Arjuna. The story wherein the Arjuna choice of chosing Krishna as a mentor made Pandavas is an interesting lesson for current day entrepreneurs. Most entrepreneurs like Duryodhana get's blinded by the resources (funding) while underestimating the power of Krishna (mentor). There is a commonality between Arjuna’s dilemma and psychological/emotional phenomenon we see in entrepreneur around us. Entrepreneurs mindless pursuit to raise funding is the path leading to sure shot failure instead they should go after finding the mentor who believes in their goals. Entrepreneurs need to understand that resources may exhaust, dwindle or dry up depending on the markets but Krishna support for entrepreneur is available anywhere, anytime & all the time. Locate Krishna, locate success.

Extremely well articulated Sajnayji. While interacting with various founders and business owners, there seems to be that unexpressed reluctance towards being open to accept external help (i.e. mentoring). Such insights will surely help to remove any doubts from their minds.
