Self-Doubt Always Shows Up Before Big Moments—Here’s How to Move Through It
Self-doubt loves to show up at the worst times, doesn’t it? Just when you’re stepping into something new, chasing a dream, or taking a bold risk, that little voice sneaks in, whispering: “Are you sure you can do this?” "Are you sure you want to do this?"
As I prepare for the official launch of my first book, Your Time to Rise: Unlearn Limiting Beliefs, Unlock Your Power, and Unleash Your Truest Self - which officially drops TOMORROW, January 14th 🎉, I’ve been reminded that resistance often carries a deeper meaning—it’s a sign you’re on the right path.
From hitting Amazon Bestseller status a month before release (still pinching myself!) to wrestling with waves of self-doubt, it’s been equal parts exhilarating and humbling. And through it all, I’ve learned some powerful lessons about moving through resistance, embracing growth, and showing up fully for what matters most.
✨Self-Doubt Is Proof You’re Doing Something Meaningful
Throughout the writing process, I caught myself spiraling into questions like:
Sound familiar? These doubts felt overwhelming at times, but I’ve learned something important: the higher the stakes, the louder those voices tend to get. Why? Because self-doubt shows up most when you’re doing something that truly matters.
What changed everything for me was recognizing that those doubts don’t need to disappear for me to move forward. Instead of fighting them, I chose to acknowledge them, give them space, and then take one small step anyway.
✨Resistance Can Be Subtle, But It’s Still Resistance
Even after the early success of the book, self-doubt didn’t vanish—it simply evolved.
As launch day approached, I noticed myself holding back in quieter ways:
It wasn’t obvious on the outside, but I was shrinking. I wasn’t stepping into the moment with the full energy and confidence I knew it deserved.
What shifted everything was a conversation with my book coach. She reminded me that now is not the time to second-guess my work or play small. Her words gave me the nudge I needed to own—not halfway, but fully—the impact this book can have on the people who need it most. (Coaches need coaches too. ❤️)
✨Growth Happens When You Step Into the Resistance
Whether you’re writing a book, starting a business, or taking a bold leap in your career or life, resistance is often your greatest teacher. It’s a sign you’re stretching into something bigger.
Here’s how I’ve learned to move through it:
What you’re doing matters. The resistance you feel is proof of that.
Honor Your Journey
Wherever you are in your journey, take a moment to pause and reflect. Celebrate the hard work, the growth, and the ripple effects of your efforts. It’s not just about you—it’s about the people whose lives you touch: your kids, your team, your family, and your community.
You’re creating impact in ways you may not even realize!
If you’ve ever felt like self-doubt is holding you back, remember this: you’re not alone. The road to meaningful work is rarely smooth, but it’s always worth it.
To you honoring your journey,❤️
