September 2023
Welcome Message
My journey at San Miguel started in 2016 when I was hired as a college counselor. Since then I have supported nearly 500 graduates through their college and career aspirations, coached softball and boys basketball, and invested my time and family in everything San Miguel.
Like many of you, I truly believe in the mission and vision of our school. I feel incredibly fortunate to now work with supporters like you in this new role. I know that our work, in partnership with the community, is more important than ever in this world. For that, I feel enthusiastic and optimistic about the year ahead of us.
With gratitude, Ricardo “Ricky” Dominguez

Lasallian 5 Core Principles Week: September 11-15, 2023
San Miguel High School celebrated Lasallian identity last week during Five Core Principles Week. The Lasallian Five Core Principles guide us as a school and are central to Lasallian spirituality.
The school community gathered together to begin the week with a prayer service. During the prayer service members of the student body and staff members from each department placed symbols in the foundation of a house outlined in the gym, to symbolize how Lasallian Core Principles are at the foundation of our work. Every section of the school community was included to symbolize how we are all different, and yet part of the same house.
Throughout the week, students participated in lunch activities to practice the Core Principles in action. Students painted rocks with positive messages and images, wrote each other encouraging notes, made friendship bracelets, and assembled bagged lunches to be donated to local shelters.
San Miguel is blessed to have an engaged and dynamic Brothers Community whose members show up to campus every day to teach, model, and enact the Five Core Principles. We are grateful to Brother Martin Vu, Brother Jack Henderson, Brother Jesus Lara, and to the Brothers new to our community, Brother Matthew Chiantella and Brother Javier Hansen, for all that they do to infuse our campus with Lasallian values.
