SEPTEMBER REVIEW
September has brought its share of challenges to landscaping, with unpredictable weather meaning we had to be at the top of our game to ensure all ‘live’ products remained fresh and healthy.
Despite these difficulties, I couldn’t be prouder of the PGE team who have shown great resilience, adapting to last-minute changes to work schedules due to weather conditions or delays on projects, and they have continued to deliver high standards.
Our focus on biodiversity and sustainability continues, with the teams embracing Landscape designs and implementing them with great care and consideration for existing habitats.
Looking ahead to autumn, now is the time to prepare for seasonal projects such as tree auditing and planting, maintenance and soil care.
With many clients keen to ready their spaces for the colder months, we’re offering tailored advice. Autumn is a time for renewal and preparation and a time to make the most of being out of the nesting season and manage areas that will be getting ready to lie dormant until spring next year.
Please get in touch to discuss any current or future landscaping needs - we cover everything from Pre-construction through to Adoption works, and have a strong knowledgeable team who are ready to help.
Here’s to a productive and rewarding October!

SOLVING GARDEN FLOODING
So far during 2024, the UK has experienced contrasting rainfall patterns, and it has been wetter overall than in previous years. With this, we have been called out to several Customer Care projects where there have been drainage issues resulting in flooded gardens.
For this project, we were asked to help with a plot that was the lowest on the site, which was therefore handling the runoff, and unfortunately did not have sufficient drainage.
MEET JOHN
John Bruton has been with PGE for 5 years, working as an operative on the tools, as well as being a Contract Manager, and more recently Team Leader for our Maintenance division.
A huge congratulations are in order following John’s recent promotion to Fleet and Yard Manager. Well done John! With John’s previous experience in managing a Yard, and working closely with operatives to arrange supplies and tools, he was the obvious choice.

When I asked John to tell me about his time at PGE so far, he said “it’s like working for a family, where you’re always supported and encouraged to be the best you can be”.
He’s enjoyed working in a number of roles/ departments within the business, and is excited to move into his new Fleet and Yard Manager role tomorrow.
As well as being handy on a Bobcat, John has a huge passion for engineering and 3D printing which he likes to enjoy in his spare time!
If you ever come to our HQ you’ll spot him riding the forklift, and he’ll also be responsible for stock in the yard so if you’re a supplier you might hear from him soon.
