Adriana Hoyos, an internationally recognized leader in design, boasts a remarkable career spanning over 30 years, marked by her creative influence on thousands of interior design projects around the globe. With 13 signature furniture collections under her belt, Hoyos has become synonymous with elegance and innovation in the world of design. As the founder of Adriana Hoyos Design Studio, she has cemented her reputation as one of Latin America’s most distinguished design minds, seamlessly blending timeless sophistication with functionality across residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces. Now, as the newest member of Istituto Marangoni Miami's advisory board, Hoyos is poised to make an even greater impact by mentoring the next generation of design talent. Her industry expertise and visionary approach offer invaluable guidance to students, allowing them to bridge the gap between creative concepts and market demands. Through her involvement, Hoyos can help shape the curriculum, introduce groundbreaking ideas, and foster partnerships with key industry leaders. THE UNDERLINE SNEAKER BALL | Students Present Designs at Miami Community Event
Join us in celebrating our students' successes! Our streetwear-inspired designs took center stage at The Underline Sneaker Ball, a celebration of Miami's vibrant urban culture. Held at the Brickell Backyard Urban Gym, this event brought together fashion, community, and sustainability, showcasing Miami’s rise as a dynamic fashion hub.
Edgy, modern outfits were paired with CNCPTS sneakers, creating a striking contrast between high-concept fashion and everyday street style. IMM Executive VP Eva Hughes highlighted how the designs balanced creativity with sustainability, capturing both the essence of Miami and the collaborative spirit that defines today's fashion industry. The event not only showcased our students' innovation but also reinforced the synergy between fashion and the local community.
A standout piece from the event was a unique pair of shoes inspired by Miami’s “The Underline” concept, crafted by Fashion Design student, Sarah Berto. These one-of-a-kind shoes, made with leather paints for lasting wear and quality art display were auctioned off and sold for $225, exemplifying creativity and craftsmanship. Their participation in The Underline Sneaker Ball demonstrates the valuable opportunities our students have to showcase their work and collaborate with top brands like CNCPTS. Events like these provide platforms to build industry connections, gain real-world experience, and prepare for successful careers through creativity and collaboration.
INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO SHOW | A Showcase of Inspiring Senior Projects
We’re always excited to celebrate the achievements of our talented senior students! Recently, those from Istituto Marangoni Miami’s Intensive Interior Design Program proudly marked their entry into the professional design world at our inaugural Interior Design Portfolio Show. The event was a resounding success, with students connecting directly with renowned architects, designers, and brand directors from both Miami and Milan, all of whom were deeply impressed by the innovation and creativity reflected in their portfolios.
Parents beamed with pride as they witnessed the transformation of their children into confident, competitive designers, ready to make their mark in the industry. Supported by our dedicated faculty, who play a vital role in nurturing creativity and pushing boundaries, this event was a testament to IMM’s commitment to evolving design education and empowering students to turn curiosity into expertise.
"PITCH YOUR BRAND" | Fashion Business Final Project Jury
Let's celebrate the next generation of fashion leaders! Our Fashion Business students recently took the spotlight at the ‘Pitch Your Brand’ event, where they presented their unique brand concepts to an impressive panel of industry experts. The esteemed jury included visionaries such as Sigal Cohen, Founder of Shop Sigal; Nina Quintero, Founder of Gemsalacarte; Annette Felder, Co-founder of Felder Felder; Jeff Carvalho, Co-founder of Highsnobiety; and IMM Executive Vice President, Eva Hughes, among others. Each student had 15 minutes to pitch their ideas, receiving valuable feedback that will help shape the future of their businesses.
Under the guidance of Fashion Business Program Leader Nathalie Tessier and Professor Silvia Pimenta, the students showcased remarkable growth and creativity throughout the semester. This experience not only sharpened their business acumen but also equipped them with the confidence and innovation needed to carve their path in the competitive fashion industry.
