She is many things in one called A Woman

In a world that often moves at breakneck speed, it's rare to find any human who embodies the qualities of compassion, dedication, and love in every aspect of their life. For her, however, these attributes are not just words – they are the guiding principles that define her moral standards and portray her as a friend, a sister, a nurse, a mother, a wife, and above all, a virtuous woman.

In her role as a nurse, she epitomizes the essence of caregiving. With a heart full of empathy and a mind sharp with medical skills, without even taking a med school examination, she goes above and beyond to provide comfort and healing to the people in her world. Whether she's comforting a frightened patient at work, advocating for better healthcare policies, or lending a listening ear to a colleague in distress, she approaches everything with unwavering dedication and kindness.

Honestly, her compassion doesn't end when she leaves the office. As a mother, she pours her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding her children, instilling in them the values of kindness, integrity, and resilience. From bandaging scraped knees/elbows to offering medicinal vegetables to the family spiced with words of encouragement during life's challenges, she is a constant source of love and support for her family, always putting their needs above her own.

She is the one person who eats after everyone else has had their full. She does not fall sick, not because she is immortal but because if she does, who will take care of her and the responsibilities that mother nature committed to her. Either employed as a Domestic Worker to take care of the home (if you like call her a full housewife. Na you know. As if there is half housewife) without pay or a career woman juggling the hustling and bustling of life with home care, she delivers unflinching values every time.

As a wife, she embodies the true meaning of partnership and commitment. She is not only a loving companion but also a trusted confidant and steadfast supporter. Whether it's celebrating the joys of life together or weathering the storms that come their way, she is committed to everyone’s success. Interestingly, she is the one who remembers everyone’s birthday, including cousins, nieces, and nephews. She does not only remind you to call, but she also encourages or scolds you to do so. It is her way of keeping the family knit.

Beyond her roles as a nurse, mother, and wife, she is a virtuous woman in every sense of the word. She leads by example, demonstrating integrity, humility, a high level of morality and grace in all that she does. Her actions speak louder than words, inspiring those around her to strive for excellence and embody the values of compassion, generosity, and kindness. God help you to miss the signalling of her eyes as her child when that stranger offers you “Mr gugi-gudi”. You will live to remember that day.

I feel so proud to declare at this point, that this one-woman battalion is my wife. So, as we celebrate Women’s successes, life, and accomplishments today, join me as I celebrate my woman, Oloori Oba Dafidi herself, Aderonke, a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, BSc Nursing LAUTECH, Office-In-Charge Alausa PHC and a Senior Nursing Officer with Lagos State Government.

I dedicate this piece to my Woman whose caring touch heals my body, emotion and soul no matter the weather. To the love of my life, I can say with my full chest that you virtuous woman whose light shines bright in a world that often feels dark.
