She Said “Yes”: Falling for More than Just Almonds! - Day 2

So, on our second day in the City by the Bay, a day that started with a "yes, I do” and ended with, well, my nuts taking an unexpected plunge. Yeah, you heard that right. But let's rewind a bit.

Our plan was very clear for Friday morning, to conquer the Golden Gate Bridge, a structure so magnificent it makes you question your decision to not become a civil engineer.

But first things first, we had to swing by a local coffee spot, we were told that the coffee was so good that even the beans high-fived each other in excitement. If you ever find yourself in SF, trust me, this place is the breakfast equivalent of finding a unicorn in your backyard, I think they called it Starbucks, if you ever go to San Francisco stop by.

Now, with caffeine riding through our veins, we cruised through DTSF like we owned the place. Google (another small company based in SF) was our guiding light, and let me tell you, these SF folks at Google know their stuff, forget getting lost in bathroom mazes; maybe I should have used it the day before while I was lost in that bathroom labyrinth. Google is the answer to all of life's directional dilemmas I’ve been having.

Anyways, arriving at the Golden Gate Bridge, J, the human GPS, led us to a lookout that showcased not just the iconic bridge but also Alcatraz Island, and a "Love lock wall."

Love padlocks, (also known as Love Locks) affixed to a fence, gate, bridge or similar public fixture by sweethearts are, apparently, the international symbol of everlasting love, or maybe they are a  signal of dire distress from one of the lovers, a desperate cry for help – your guess is as good as mine.  Who knows? Maybe someday J will be the one attaching our padlock to a fence, and I'll be the guy asking for directions to the nearest hardware store.

Muscles were flexed, and photos were snapped, first you then me, then us, and some of them …all the pronouns were used. J and I are very inclusive and LGTB allies - obviously I'm referring to the Legs, Glutes, Triceps, and Biceps community. So now that all our muscles were warmed up...then came the defining moment. Midway across the bridge, surrounded by breathtaking views, maybe as a result of reflecting on my feelings, maybe inspired by the “Love lock wall”…I looked deep into those piercing blue eyes of hers, and popped out THE QUESTION:

            "J, are you hungry yet?"

Now, I'm not saying she was head over heels, but if she were a cartoon character, her eyes would be transforming into hearts right about now, and my heart might have done a little victory dance.

I know you all are dying to hear what she said. Well, this is a happy ending kind of tale so..(no, she didn’t “happy end me” in that way, you pervs, or not at that moment anyway)

            She Said Yes!

But LOVE my friends, is a twisty road, so we found ourselves navigating the "Crookedest Street in the World" – Lombard Street.

Fun fact about the crookiest st: Hillary Clinton doesn’t live there, or any other politician for that matter, for more fun facts visit GOOGLE, the internet thing I’ve mentioned earlier.

After a quick bite and a surprise tap dance performance from J (girl's got moves!), we explored the Mrs. Doubtfire house and the famous "Painted Ladies”, a row of colorful Victorian houses located at Steiner Street, across from Alamo Square, a beautiful pastel-colored homes, that only if you are NOT a motherfucker colorblind person, will enjoy, but that’s a story for another tale. These houses are also known for being in the “Full House” TV show Opening Credits.

Now, at this point, my memory gets a bit hazy. We hit the Museum of Science, wandered around for hours, and we had to have dinner somewhere (we had to). So, we decided to make a “quick” pit stop at the hotel for a "nap and snack” but J embarked on an exhaustive mission to pinpoint the perfect dinner spot, delving into a culinary odyssey that left me “Feng Shuing” my thoughts also know as napping. Bro, was she memorizing the entire menu or what?

After a marathon of 2 hours and 35 minutes, a decision was reached – or rather, she reached it.

Thai,  it is!

We set out for Fisherman's Wharf and holding hands we strolled like carefree teenagers, surrounded by breathtaking views of the city and the Bay. The Thai restaurant was along El Embarcadero, the waterfront of the Port of San Francisco. Now, I get it – many of you might fumble when it comes to distinguishing between various Asian cuisines. Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese, they're all part of the same culinary family. However, never in my wildest dreams did I expect such a culinary curveball. Our destination turned out to be more reminiscent of an Italian eatery than an authentic Thai joint. In fact, it was an Italian rest, and despite the unexpected detour, the feast that unfolded, predominantly seafood, was an absolute delight – proving that sometimes, the best meals are the ones that defy expectations.

Now, for the moment you've all been holding your breath for – I woke up in the wee hours, nature's call in full swing, and bam! My nuts decided to pull a gravity-defying stunt straight onto the floor. Talk about a plot twist, huh?

And before you start picturing some acrobatic bedroom Olympics, let me clarify – remember we went down during a casual pit stop for a "nap and snack.”?

In the aftermath, I discovered J had transformed into a gummy bear-devouring ninja, leaving no survivors in her wake. The night took an even nuttier turn when two almonds (see what I did there? “Almonds-nuttier” I  know, it’s nuts), as I was saying two almonds decided to hitch a ride on my underwear. I guess my briefs were having a snack of their own! Go figure, – in the unpredictable tale of my Thanksgiving escapade, my nuts made a cameo appearance in the most unexpected place, and the rest, my friends, is now legendary history.
