Shining Brightly in the Harshest Environments

In life, there are moments when everything seems dark and gloomy when the circumstances around us are harsh and unforgiving. These are the times when our true character is tested, and it is in these very moments that we have the opportunity to showcase our vision and shine brightly.

When we talk about vision, we are not referring to our physical sight, but rather our ability to see beyond the present challenges and envision a brighter future. It is a mental perspective that allows us to focus on our goals and dreams, even when the world around us seems to be against us.

The phrase "It is in the dark that a spark shines the brightest" aptly captures the essence of this concept. Just as a tiny spark can illuminate a pitch-black room, our vision can guide us through even the most challenging times. It is during these dark moments that our true potential is revealed, as we find the courage and strength to persevere. How many times have I shown up in a sparkly dress and shone? Before that I was sitting in the dark crying my eyes out at where I was in life, my eyes black from crying on the floor in despair at the circumstances in my life, my relationship, and my business.

One might argue that it is easier to have the vision and shine brightly when things are going well, when life is light and bright. However, it is precisely during the most difficult times that our vision becomes most valuable. When faced with adversity, it is natural to feel overwhelmed, lost and discouraged. But it is in these moments that our vision acts as a guiding light, leading us toward the path of success. When I have been at rock bottom, is exactly where the growth has happened. The end of a relationship was the worst month in my business. At rock bottom in my business was a turning point for me!

When I am open to receiving ideas, and support and a willingness to act on this, growth starts to emerge again… I have been an amazing giver but I know unless I am willing to open to all the abundance that is offered, a truck of gold could show up but unless I am putting my focused attention on it I won’t see it.

But there is growth even in the dark. A snowdrop grows and emits beauty even in the coldest and harshest of winters.

Having a strong vision requires courage. It takes courage to believe in oneself, to trust in our abilities, and to keep moving forward when everything seems to be falling apart. It is easy to lose hope and give in to the darkness, but it takes an extraordinary amount of bravery to rise above the challenges and let our vision shine through.

In the harshest environments, our vision becomes a beacon of hope, not only for ourselves but for those around us as well. When others witness our unwavering determination and resilience, they too are inspired to overcome their own obstacles and pursue their dreams. Our ability to shine brightly in the face of adversity becomes a source of inspiration for others, igniting their own sparks of vision.

History is filled with examples of individuals who had a vision and shone brightly even in the most challenging of circumstances. Nelson Mandela, for instance, spent 27 years in prison for his beliefs, yet never lost sight of his vision for a free and equal South Africa. His unwavering determination ultimately led to the dismantling of apartheid and a brighter future for his nation.

In conclusion, having a vision and shining brightly is not an easy task, especially when faced with harsh and challenging environments. Yet, it is during these very moments that our vision becomes most valuable and transformative. It is the courage to believe in ourselves and our dreams that enables us to navigate through the darkness and emerge victorious. So, let us embrace our vision, even in the harshest of environments, and let our spark ignite a path toward a brighter future.
