Shouldn't every day be World Earth Day?

I know I am a bit late to the party for World Earth Day with this article, but sometimes life gets in the way.

Despite my tardiness, and given the state of the planet and global warming it does beg the question I asked at the start here:

"Shouldn't everyday be World Earth Day?"

The state of our planet links to a number of the UN Sustainable Development goals in particular, life below water (SDG14), life on land (SDG15), clean water and sanitation (SDG6), affordable and clean energy (SDG7), responsible consumption (SDG12), and sustainable cities (SDG11), all of which are connected with the need for climate change (SDG13).

We all need this work to be done to give us good health and well-being (SDG3) now and to give future generations exactly that – a future.

As the graphic below shows, which I included in my new book ‘Change Your Story’, the statistics for climate change make stark reading.

By kind permission of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

There is clearly much to be done and I am grateful to the UN for giving me permission to include details from them on all of the 17 SDGs in the appendices of 'Change Your Story'.

I would agree Carolyn but we should not just focus on the planet but its inhabitants. We should live each day in harmony with each other and our environment.
