Show them how to live

The most important person to be healthy for, is yourself!

And, many readers of this newsletter are parents. Often of young children. Children who are creating the habits, approaches, and mindsets that they will carry with them into adulthood.

At times children will follow our instructions.

But more often, children will copy what we do.

Both the good things, and the bad.

It was a proud moment when my 6 year old said “ I've got some sore muscles, can I use your roller to loosen up Dad?”

It was a less proud moment when I heard him using some of the tactics we use to try and get his 3 year old brother to do something he doesn't want to do. (Parenting reflection - stop using those tactics)

When we take healthy actions we improve our health so we can show up better as people and parents.

When we make those healthy actions visible to our kids they start to copy us.

We begin to embed healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

We instill healthy values and mindsets that are much harder to begin when they are adults.

We create a model of health that they can follow.

We start them down the healthy path early.

What's it worth for you to be healthy?

How big a gift is it to set your kids up to be healthy for the rest of their lives?
