Kelly Patrick | Principal Analyst

Written by Kelly Patrick

In this free asset, we discuss the overarching themes affecting the clinical care device markets, in addition to the regional revenues for each product. Digitalisation is a core trend across the clinical care market, with many healthcare providers accelerating toward establishing smart hospitals. The COVID-19 pandemic and worsening staff resource crisis is providing the additional impetus for healthcare systems to revitalise equipment. Newer systems are offering advanced capabilities, connected to wider platforms to enable smarter clinical decisions. The focus has shifted to improve patient care by reducing the burden on nurses and physicians, utilising patient data to improve both clinical and staff workflow. The analysis within the digital download is a summary of the coverage of the clinical care markets.

2. Keeping up to the Beat of the Diagnostic Cardiology Market

The evolution of the healthcare industry towards models of population health management (PHM) and value-based-care (VBC) is providing the fundamental shift of healthcare provision from acute to ambulatory settings. The increasing pressure on cardiologists in the wake of the resource shortage crisis is further accelerating demand for solutions that can reduce burden. With this growing appetite to advance patient care provision, the diagnostic cardiology market has continued to see exciting new innovative solutions entering the market, further developing the cardiac patient pathway.

Digital Pathology’s ecosystem will not support its AI vendors indefinitely. So how should investors and partners differentiate between players in today’s market?

There is an abundance of vendors currently developing their own products in the AI ecosystem for digital pathology (DP), and as I detailed in a previous article the market is simply not ready to sustain every vendor in operation indefinitely. Consolidation has already begun, note the recent acquisitions of Crosscope and KeenEye, yet new entrants are still expected over the next few years – keeping the market crowded.

The BD Alaris System is all set to make its comeback with its recent 510K approval. This follows significant remediation efforts after BD’s voluntary Class I recall of the device in March 2020. After what has indubitably been a long and cumbersome process, BD has received the greenlight to proceed with the redistribution of the Alaris System across the US as of July 2023. Reintroduction of this device is likely to be well received from hospitals looking to capitalise on and broaden their patient visibility and integration capabilities.

6. The Evolution of Clinical Decision Support in the Patient Monitoring Market

Written by Kelly Patrick

Signify Research has recently updated its analysis of the global patient monitor market. Valued at just under $5 billion in 2022, annual revenues are projected to increase by just over $0.5 billion by 2027. Following the surges in demand for monitoring solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the market has reached saturation in many regions. However, pockets of opportunity exist as demand for digital and connected systems continues and vendors further develop innovative solutions that aim to help soften the impact of overstretched and under resourced healthcare facilities. This insight delves deeper into the market developments and trends impacting the patient monitor market that will be important as the market evolves.

7. Global CT Market Reached $6 Billion in 2022

Written by Matt Watson

Against the turbulent backdrop of high inflation and sporadic economic recovery, the global CT market’s growth was more subdued in 2022 than in the mid-pandemic market of the previous year. Despite this, total sales of CT equipment surpassed $6 billion in 2022, and recent projections from Signify Research give cause for optimism over our 5-year forecast period and beyond. Burgeoning appetite for modern diagnostic imaging capabilities in emerging markets, the fundamental need for advanced procedures to deliver clinical precision in mature markets, and advancements in AI reconstruction and workflow optimisation tools will propel an estimated global revenue CAGR of 6.7% between 2022 and 2027.
