What’s New/Product Updates
⏩ Jumpcode Genomics DepleteX™ Kit can now be integrated with the BD Rhapsody™ Whole Transcriptome Analysis (WTA) Assay. This combination allows you to efficiently remove unwanted mitochondrial transcript information during library preparation, ensuring high-quality WTA sequencing data without any compromise. Explore the data
⏩ We are excited to see the GenomeWeb report of a multi-platform research study comparing single-cell offerings, including instrument-free approaches, that highlights the BD Rhapsody™ System as the preferred single-cell platform for researchers seeking to get great performance data for their research budget. Single-cell experiments can demand a considerable investment of your research dollars and time. Delivering the best performance data for your precious samples in a cost-effective manner is the mission of our single-cell multiomics team.

Document Highlight
This month we have chosen to highlight the BD Rhapsody™ TCR/BCR Next Multiomic Assay brochure. This assay enables profiling of T- and B-cell receptors (TCRs and BCRs), which are the key determinants of adaptive immunity. The next generation of BD Rhapsody™ TCR/BCR Multiomic Assays reveal immune repertoire richness with great sensitivity alongside simultaneous single-cell gene and protein expression analyses.
Order your BD Rhapsody™ TCR/BCR Next Assay on our website or by contacting your local BD sales representative.
Top Questions This Month
Q: Can we profile antigen-specific T cells with the BD Rhapsody™ TCR/BCR Assay?
A: Immudex® dCODE Dextramer® (RiO) Reagents can be used with the BD Rhapsody™ TCR/BCR Assay to detect and characterize low-frequency antigen-specific T-cells while simultaneously obtaining the full sequences of the V(D)J gene segments of T-cell receptors, along with transcriptome and cell surface protein expression information within a single streamlined workflow. Q: Which cell types have we validated for the Intracellular CITE-seq Assay Using BD® AbSeq Antibody-Oligos?
A: We have validated the assay on tonsillar TFH cells, stimulated/resting PBMCs, Jurkat cells treated with camptothecin, and resting Jurkat, Ramos and THP-1 cell lines.
Q: What is the recommended cell load incubation time for nuclei loading on the single-lane and 8-lane BD Rhapsody™ Cartridge?
A: The recommended cell load incubation time for nuclei on the single-lane cartridge is 20–30 minutes and for the 8-lane cartridge is 8 min.
BD Rhapsody™ System Publication Highlight
Kwok AJ, et al. Neutrophils and emergency granulopoiesis drive immune suppression and an extreme response endotype during sepsis. Nat Immunol. 2023;24(5):767-779. doi: 10.1038/s41590-023-01490-5
⏩ What they discovered:
The study found that neutrophils and emergency granulopoiesis drive a maladaptive immune response during sepsis. The authors identified immunosuppressive neutrophil populations and altered granulopoiesis in patients with poor outcomes using scRNA-Seq and cell surface protein sequencing with the BD Rhapsody™ Whole Transcriptome Analysis (WTA) Amplification Kit and BD® AbSeq Antibody-Oligos
⏩ What this means: The findings highlight the critical role of neutrophils in sepsis, offering new therapeutic targets. This could guide research into treatment strategies, leading to better outcomes for severe infections. For the scientific community, it underscores the importance of immune cell behavior in disease progression, paving the way for more personalized and effective medical interventions.

Did you know?
Our single-cell multiomics products like the BD Rhapsody™ ATAC-Seq Assay and BD Rhapsody™ TCR/BCR Next Multiomic Assay are backwards compatible with the legacy BD Rhapsody™ Express System. While the newer BD Rhapsody™ HT Xpress System enables you to run high-throughput assays, all new assay releases are backwards compatible thus not requiring you to upgrade to a new instrument to unlock new assays.
