SLASSCOM, Sri Lanka’s national chamber for the IT/BPM industry, will be hosting its annual flagship event, the National Ingenuity Awards, for the fourth year in succession on the 5th May 2022, at Shangri-La Colombo.
The National Ingenuity Awards 2022 aims to elevate the next-generation of entrepreneurs who are creating new technologies and innovations to benefit our nation and it’s economy, and sets the stage for schools, universities, start-ups and established enterprises to showcase their unique and disruptive solutions and products that are intended to solve business, social, and environmental challenges. Finalists and award winners will receive the global visibility, networking opportunities and potential connections they need to pioneer breakthroughs, incite change, and help achieve a better world for all.
The event having taken on a decentralized approach last year, taking into account talent from across the nine provinces and equal acknowledgement for them all, will focus on two levels: provincial and national.

“Facilitating entrepreneurship can be approached from two angles,” he added. “One is to encourage innovative thinking and promote new ventures that create value in the market. The other is to lower the risks and barriers associated with startups, allowing more people with commercial ideas to start and expand business ventures. These are some of the key goals we have been achieving through the ingenuity awards where innovative startups are recognized and given opportunities for growth.”
The event will be broadcasted live globally. SLASSCOM as a trailblazer for the IT/BPM industry, with a membership of over 300, representing approximately 90% of Sri Lanka’s IT/BPM revenue, is keen to create a platform through these awards to highlight the talents of the nation’s entrepreneurs and to connect, promote, and showcase the startup and entrepreneur ecosystem of the country to the global arena.
