Sneak peek of 6 months of sharing and mentoring 2 young budding professionals!
Paul and Joackim joined Infobip France in our team at the beginning of 2021 for 5 and 6 months each. It was their first experience within a professional environment and they arrived in a full remote work period. How do manage such integration for interns? How to make sure they will find their place, learn and grow?
Have a look at their time spent with us with this interview!
Searching for your internship and your arrival at Infobip both happened during the infamous health situation of 2020-2021. What was it like for you?
PAUL: I was really lucky in that I found my internship fairly quickly, after two weeks of intense research and application. I have to admit that it has not been as easy for my fellow classmates looking for an opportunity. I kept my head high despite the situation and I was sort of rewarded for my efforts.
JOACKIM: Looking for an internship in such a context was challenging. However, I powered through and I was lucky enough to be able to join Infobip! My beginnings and my integration went really well. Tiphaine and the Infobip team as a whole were incredibly welcoming and by my side to provide the best working environment I could have hoped for. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease.
What were your first missions?
PAUL: For the most part, my assignments were:
JOACKIM: As a marketing intern, I was responsible for the creation of a monthly study of the French market (events, press advertisements and articles, …). I was also in charge of keeping a close eye on what our main competitors were doing, in order to establish social networks posts. I even got to co-lead two majors digital events.

What did you enjoy the most during your time at Infobip?
PAUL: I really liked how diverse the people working here are, and the fact that I got to be part of a team in the making, in a market to conquer.
JOACKIM: I think I particularly liked the international facet of Infobip, how it allowed me to work with a wide array of specialists all around Europe, like Egzon (Digital Advertising Specialist in Vodnjan), Diego (Field Marketing Specialist in Milan) or Sarah (Head of Marketing Europe in London).
Do you have any memorable anecdote?
PAUL: On the first day of BipRun, Ricardo came to the office by running—more than 10 kilometers! We got to share our morning coffee with him in his running outfit, that was wild!
JOACKIM: On one day, while everybody was working on their individual laptop, my fingers slipped and I started a Teams call with the whole team. I left it as quickly as I could, thinking that it would end the call, but the whole team joined the called and started chatting, thinking there was a meeting. It really was fun!
Now that you are wiser, what piece of advice would you give to any future intern?
PAUL: First things first, if you want Ricardo to like you, get interested in photography! More seriously though, they should just be themselves, no matter what. A lot of advice comes from all the members of the team, and any future intern should pocket them for their future. Also, prospecting can be hard but hang in there!
JOACKIM: Listen to Tiphaine! She really has her intern’s best interest at heart and she will do everything to help and support any one joining her team, to make them feel comfortable and to grow!
And what about After Infobip?
PAUL: I’m going to pause my studies for a year in order to get more experience in an English-speaking country. I have some leads in Montreal, Wellington, Cape Town, Vancouver, San Francisco … I will pick the one providing the best opportunity.
JOACKIM: I am on a gap year til the end of 2021. I plan to do another four-month internship abroad. I would love to do it in London or in Madrid. And if possible, I would love to add another chapter to my Infobip adventure!
