So what is the 'real worth' of your life
When you are asked this question What is the real worth of your own life? The values, real or otherwise, are relatively subjective matter. They are whatever you want them to be: they are a matter of your personal priorities like health, security, family values, relationships, wisdom and so on. Fortunately, we’re all human beings and share the human condition. Whether individually or collectively, we are all things in one life. Our shared DNA, our shared biology, and our shared neurology make us fundamentally similar in essential, physical, ways. So it’s not surprising that we, for the most part, share many values in common.
However, it’s not really consistent or not even guaranteed in this world but people somehow tend to get what they deserve just because fairness is at the heart of morality. We empathize with those who are treated unfairly because we know what that feels like. What goes around, comes around, and back again. This, to me, is not karma. It’s the human condition. For us, the golden rule is universal. First and foremost is that we do no unnecessary harm to anyone.
Of course, you may not believe in true love but you wouldn’t want to be without it either. You may be antisocial in a way but you wouldn’t want to be isolated either. You may be a coward but you wouldn’t want to be left in the lurch searching for the meaning of life. Sometimes, it seems our values are hypocritical and dispensable when convenient or profitable to ignore. Therefore, to me, so-called “real values” or "worth" are the ones without price-tags on them. The ones you would fight and die for. Here’s my subjective list in the order of priority: family, health, self respect, social obligations, spiritual level, acceptance, gratitude
That is the real worth of a human. To do that the more you become wiser, the more conscious you become spiritual, the more loving, caring, sensitive, giving you become, the more valuable your human life becomes in real time. The value is weighty and tangibly felt. And isn't that satisfying? A life that lived up to that ecstatic promise is truly a life to be celebrated indeed- that is a peace that everyone can feel, at the end.
