Social media Marketing Tips and Tricks
All kinds of brands and businesses use social media platforms to reach more consumers to build their businesses.
Here are some tips with a few examples to help you understand better;
- Be consistent
When covid hit the world, the travel industry was one of the most affected by it, and ‘Airbnb’ as we all know it had its business completely halted. Airbnb found a way to not only stay active on social media but actually help with the current situation. By offering free or subsidized lodging to COVID19 responders it found a way to keep its business running, while also improving its brand image.
You do not have to do exactly this, but what is to be understood is that, no matter what is the condition of your brand, be consistent with your posts, it will only help you to build better customer relationships and soon you will have amazing ideas out of your own audience.
- Interact with your audience
Amazon used this trick and responded to their customers’ posts about their brand in a funny and witty manner. They made the best out of UGC (User-generated content). They reposted customer tweets about amazon on their social media page by replying to the tweet in the caption. This gained a lot of engagement.
Responding to the comments or messages and interacting with your consumers is one thing, and doing the same more creatively is another. Try out. It works!
- Keep an eye on what’s trending
You would have seen many brands using the current trends from tik tok or reels or challenges to the advantage of their own brand. Usually by re-creating the same video content with their product.
Doing something like this can boost up your reach, people are already viewing the viral content on repeat, while at the same time your brand also creates it, the audience will surely watch it, this is a very easy and cost-effective way of creating highly visual content.

- Focus on a cause your audience resonates with:
Dove who’s hey target customers are women, their ad campaigns are normally centered around women’s empowerment, diversity, and breaking beauty stereotypes. Dove posted pictures of women from all walks of life and highlighted their unique qualities and characteristics. The campaign asked women around the world to share their pictures, showing how they are different. The brand built a library of over 5,000 pictures and still counting.
You can use this example and learn a lot, it creates good engagement, and customer-generated content, and builds a genuine and strong reputation of your brand, as you connect with their emotional aspect too by addressing issues and promoting positive.
- Partner with influencers and micro-influencers
Lenskart used Asia’s biggest influencer “Bhuvan Bam” as their brand ambassador in 2019. Their focus was to target the youth and what better than someone who has a unique appeal to them. He has a good social media presence, mutual love for eyewear, and is a youth icon.
Similarly, ‘Kent Atta Maker’ used ‘Hebbars Kitchen’ a creative Indian cooking channel that produces short videos and has a large audience to promote their atta maker. The response was very well.
Influencer marketing is very effective, partnering and collaborating with creators shows your brand to an audience you would otherwise not reach. But you have to keep in mind that the influencer resonates with your goals, is genuine, and can create authentic content for your brand.
