Social Media Marketing Trends For 2022 (Part 2)
Yes, ok we know! We THOUGHT we had predicted some of the new social media trends for 2022… but wait there’s more! Social Media Marketing will never stop evolving and we will never stop sharing with you all. Some of these new developments can become huge opportunities for businesses to reach more audiences and grow.
Here is part 2 of our recently published blog, Top 5 Social Media Marketing Trends for 2022.
Social Media Trends: There’s More to Watch Out For
LinkedIn will Take Influencer Marketing Seriously
In our previous blog, we’ve mentioned that more brands will take Influencer Marketing and working with Content Creators into consideration. While it’s apparent that this works on the more ‘social’ platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Reels and Tiktok, LinkedIn is catching up quickly.
The world’s largest professional networking site is now giving Influencer Marketing a second look. They have started to invest in Creator programs, allowing Influencers and Content Creators to grow an audience within the platform. Last year, LinkedIn launched its first Creator Accelerator with Jon Youshaei encouraging people to use LinkedIn.
Memes will Continue to be a Massive Marketing Tool
Both static and video memes will earn more engagement this 2022. Memes are a quick and fun way for businesses to get their audience’s attention and connect. They will bring out more ‘aha’ moments and evoke feelings of identification with relevant and trending topics.
The best part is they don’t have to be created with professionally designed graphics. Creating memes only requires knowing what makes your audience tick, understanding current conversations and including a sprinkling of humour.
Tip: We recommend Meme maker or generator platforms, such as our favourite, Canva and other available apps.

Spotlight on Mental Health and Burnout Prevention
We’re living in an intensely digital world. With the last two years of pandemic life causing worldwide disruption, the pressure to constantly produce or consume content has become overwhelming for many people.
In 2021, we saw more creators publish content that put light on social media burnout and how it affects mental health. This will continue as an important social media trend in 2022. Puzzle Media has also committed to sharing content about the importance of self-care and ensuring mental and emotional health are regularly in check for our team, suppliers and clients.
Brand Accountability and Inclusion will be a Focus
Since 2020, more brands have spoken about social issues, such as racism, inclusivity and diversity. The discussion includes their promise to their audience to learn, listen and act as these topics evolve.
As the conversation continues to be an area of focus this year, we predict that more brands will be held accountable for their promises to their audience. They will use influencer partnerships to get their message across, improve the optics and ultimately do better.
The Authentic Feed Takes Over
The future of social media is less about carefully curated feeds and more instant content – minimally edited to no filter at all. In 2022, we see brands shift away from putting together perfect online portfolios to foster authenticity and instead we’ll see more sharing about what’s happening right now. Using this approach allows us as both Social Media users, and business owners, to build relationships with our audience based on familiarisation, comfortability and realness. That doesn’t mean not planning content ahead of time and sticking to your brand guidelines, but instead incorporating authentic content (both planned and in the moment) into your Social Media strategy.
