Social Media Marketing World Experience: Day Two
So the excitement of being here on day two has sunk in deeply here at #smmw19 . The things I experienced here were phenomenal and mind opening. So today I jumped into the sessions side of things. Let me tell you, if you haven't yet, you need to experience THIS particular social media conference. It has everything you need to get started, whether you are a beginner, intermediate or guru status, there is something here for all levels.
Sessions: There were over 100 sessions of different social media quick courses, along with over 150 speakers, several coffee talk sessions and the "networking plaza" where you could meet other folks and find the "Table Talks" that fit what you were looking in regards to niche, interests, special topics, etc. There was something there for everyone.
Networking Plaza: Lets elaborate on this for a bit. This was the real networking portion of the conference. Besides being the main spot where the speakers and the vendors, the sponsor booths, the live stage (which was phenomenal as the different speakers brought reality to life with their stories of success) and the content stages were located, the networking plaza was where I spent most of my time networking with others that had my same interests at heart.
Table Talks: Here is where you found almost 500 tables with specific labels on them informing you as to what that table talk was going to be about. I focused on the main topics of my being there, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and other blogging sites like Quora, Reddit, Tumblr, etc.
I found most of my questions answered at these tables with me also giving input on tips, tricks and tactics that I have learned over the years and adapted with the changes that keep happening in the social media realm. It also gave me an idea on some table talks that I will start up locally in my communities to help get their social media presence up to par with their endeavors.
Vendors: I spent a lot of time talking and filming vendors about their latest products and services. I went live on some of the interviews which you can view on the link below. Being here was key as I was able to procure some pretty hefty trial periods since you were onsite and they really wanted to lock in your business. With over 100 vendors there, they gave GREAT insight on why their product would work for your brand, service or product.

Overall Day Two was overwhelming and when I got back to the hotel I died in bed immediately. With over 3 footballs fields worth of action you really needed to pace yourself. I made sure I brought plenty of fluids and snacks as it was a lot of standing (make sure you wear comfortable shoes, makes all the difference). But the things I learned could not have been attained anywhere else. This was Google search all under one roof with the exception that you could actually talk to the folks you searched out.
I'll be back with another article to close out the week but this day was a great experience. If you are a social media marketer or just trying to build up your brand or service, there is no better way to do it than to attend a conference like Social Media Marketing World. They are literally ONE STOP SHOP.
