A Social Worker in the Emergency Room

A Social Worker in the Emergency Room

We think of doctors, nurses and EMT's rushing in and out at an insane pace saving lives everywhere you look in ER. Did you know right next to them is the Social Worker? You think mostly of a Social Worker as dealing with child safety, mental illness, and the homeless; which is all true. However the ER Social Worker is much more; performing psycho-social evals, counseling to violent crime victims, counseling to families of the dead or dying, substance abuse, discharge planning and so much more! The Social Worker genetic make up incorporates empathy, working from the head AND the heart, and the desire to make the world a better place.

A full-time opportunity working as a Social Worker in Case Management for the ER for night shift! We are Providence Alaska Medical Center, located in Anchorage, Alaska; a level II, 400+ bed hospital with 18 operating suites, that does everything here but organ transplants.
