Joshua T Berglan
00:02:48

00:03:09
This is awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. So blessed to see you guys. And I am so pumped about today's broadcast. I'm seeing growth and I'm just so grateful for each and every one of you for taking the time out to do this, because I know that we have an, an end game here, which will spawn off a lot of other opportunities, but in the end, I'm grateful for this because I'm been able to take so much away from it every week, the podcast audience, the TV audience, the social media audience, they're all eating it up and just really grateful for this as well.
Joshua T Berglan
00:03:54
So I appreciate each and every one of you guys being here,
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:03:59
Right? That's good, man, in here.
Joshua T Berglan
00:04:02
Sorry. This is your show, a brother so that you want to get us started. We're on for a new we're on to a new subject. Today right.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:04:09
No, we're finishing our final coverage. If you will have a mission mentoring, I mean, we've, we've got to move forward where obviously we've covered a lot. We can't cover it. All of this is, this is obviously a overview so that we can lead up to the, the real show as it were. I want to open with a statement if you allow me and then just kind of set up our subject today, because while it's not directly involved with mission or mentoring to me, its it's a connector and its going to connect what we'd been discussing with what were going to be discussing.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:04:44
And I think its, it has been in my life a, a huge, a life changer and we are going to be talking about self-awareness. But before we get into that, I'm practicing a little bit of a statement I'm working on. I just to try to tie all this together. It's not exactly an elevator pitch as they say, you know, but it is my passion two to help leaders discover how they can be a progressive and creative thinker. Think you are, do you like that?
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:05:14
The English Spanglish and Oh my gosh, we are going to create new words on here. Especially with me a creative thinker, a transformational leader, one who can create a multigenerational Kingdom culture influenced by aligning your life to a mission purpose. And I know that that's, you know, that's kind of pretty much everybody that's on this round table. I know that still fits in there. Passion. That's why we're here. I mean, that's why we've connected. So this course has been created through all these calls.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:05:52
I believe it, it, for me, this is already been in, this is going to be one of the greatest endeavors I've ever been involved in. I may have given everything, you know, the Lord has allowed me to be part of, I see this as part of a transition in my life. That's going to allow me to really be a part of, of something that's been bigger than anything I've been so far. I mean, I just see that potential. So when J you know, Joshua, it starts with a, a world changing the potentials there because its the word of God, his kingdom principles, you know, it's nothing that myself or, or any of us are really created.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:06:25
Its just that we've taken our experiences and putting him down on them in a format that we can train other people and duplicate it. And once we get this thing duplicating others, it's going to, this is going to really be a, you know, a life changing program or course, you know, I dunno what we want to call it, you know, but certainly an opportunity. So again, we're going to be moving out of this and into what I call Umm teamwork or a teamwork in covenant that was going to be the key underlying factor with regards to teamwork.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:07:04
Cause I know the word teamwork is nothing new to anyone, but doing teamwork with a covenant mentality is going to be an ingredient that I think has gone, you know, really ad some things to our discussion I'm in the basis of, of getting kicked off Today I believe that and I believe everyone would agree. God has chosen to work through human beings. And so because of that, we need self-awareness. We need to understand what self-awareness is, how that enters into our mission.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:07:40
You know, we can't get new results with old behaviors. And with that in mind, the key is self awareness and we are going to talk about self-awareness where, you know the difference between that. And self-conscious, I'm a huge, huge difference.
Joshua T Berglan
00:08:01
I want to jump in real quick. Okay. You said old behaviors, old behaviors do not produce new results. Is that what you were saying? Yeah. OK. So to, to that point, what are the most frustrating things on my journey? Because we all know that we cannot, we can't do this alone, hence why we are doing this together, but that speaking to the old behaviors for the longest time, I could not figure out why everyone that came in my path was the wrong relationship for me.
Joshua T Berglan
00:08:32
But in other words, they weren't the right partner. But I would go down on these journeys because it seemed like a great idea, whether it was an opportunity to host a show or a job offer. Like I was always grasping at whatever came to me with no discernment, but a lot of, and I was so frustrated because every relationship ended up being some type of it was a dead end that was toxic or it wasn't the right pairing for me. And I didn't understand why, what the route of that was that my certain behaviors had not changed yet.
Joshua T Berglan
00:09:04
Therefor, my discernment was not as strong as it should have been. Therefore I wasn't being who I was supposed to be to attract the people that I needed to fulfill the mission that God has set me on it. So I loved that. You said that. So I just wanted to interject that real at that point real quick.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:09:20
Well, something you just said is very key that you attract you were attracting them because it all be because that was our behavior, but we can not change our behavior until we have an awareness of self. Once we know, and we are asking ourselves, why am I doing that? Why do I respond that way? And we dig that out. Then we can change that are behavior changes. So does the people events and circumstances in our life change because we attract them are Self behave are self awareness.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:09:53
We'll cause us to attract that, which we desire within our life.
Dr Ruth
00:10:00
You know, dr. Henry, there is something called CBT it's cognitive behavioral therapy. So that's the psychological term. And it's talking about identifying what's going on in the cognition or the mind an order to correct the behaviors, our see the behaviors that are attached to those mental processes. The Bible says that you would let the mind of Christ being you. That's also in him.
Dr Ruth
00:10:31
So if you free your mind, the rest will follow. A lot of times who are acting out, turning away. It is based on what they believe about themselves and the world around there. And watch you get down to the room, which is the thinking or the thought process is whether it came through nurture or how they were brought up taught. Now those that are that rear, there are whether it was a net nature passed on us and maybe something happened too damn physically that caused him brain damage, whatever it was, its the thought process is that shapes their behavior.
Dr Ruth
00:11:09
So that goes to the self awareness. How am I thinking if we change the thoughts, then the behaviors will change. That's a cognitive behavioral therapy or the understanding of what the root cause is. What is what's causing, what I'm doing.
Joshua T Berglan
00:11:28
Oh, that's well said, pastor Carla with Caroline, do you guys have anything to add to that?
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:11:38
Right?
Joshua T Berglan
00:11:38
You're on mute sister.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:11:43
Your mouth is moving, but nothing is coming up. You need to unmute your mic.
Joshua T Berglan
00:11:49
Right? I was so
Pastor Carlos
00:11:55
Focused on what was going on and listening and taking notes that I forgot. I was muted to add to what you have also said is that with self awareness, one of the most important thing also is to have an internal standard or a value system. Once you are aware of these behaviors as a doctor, who was the sad thing, when you need to have an internal value standard that says this, I can tolerate, and these I cannot tolerate this or I can take and this I can not take.
Pastor Carlos
00:12:34
And just to take us back to what Joshua said, sometimes we attract the same types of people over and over again, who may not be great or good for us because of our behaviors. And that is because we have not identified any internal value standard through which we can objectively evaluate ourselves and manage the behaviors or the emotions are whatever it is that going on around us.
Pastor Carlos
00:13:04
So while it is great for us to say yes, I want to think positive. Yes, I want to do this, but there are values that we need to say. If someone comes into my life and they present themselves in a certain way, it is unknown. No, no not the Shabbat kind of eye will not tolerate that. And I have to say goodbye and love them, but let them go, Hey man,
Joshua T Berglan
00:13:38
I'm on listening. That's all right.
Pastor Carlos
00:13:40
Right.
Joshua T Berglan
00:13:42
So trying to understand how many of these things are new for me, a So the concepts and a, it's really a, it's a I'm learning already. So I'm going to pass some a, an opinion
Pastor Carlos
00:13:58
And then he'll fix it. Yeah,
Joshua T Berglan
00:14:03
Not really clear for me. I let, this is kind of a hard to add something valuable.
Pastor Carlos
00:14:11
I wanted it to bridge the gap here too. And let me just say this real quick. When are you thinking about self awareness and how do you think you have to also consider that what you are putting out there? Spirits also be in a tracker. So here comes to a spiritual side, have their spirits being attractive. So you have liked spirits coming together and he has a different name in different phase, different place. But its the same spirit. You are trapped what you are putting out.
Pastor Carlos
00:14:41
So it it's like a woman who keeps attracting an abusive husband or abusive spouse or an abusive boyfriend or whatever. She has a of abuse.
Dr Ruth
00:14:52
That's following her. And she may present herself in a totally different way. She a nice gentleman or so she proceeds as a nice gentleman. I may approach her and he may quote unquote on the outside, have it all together. But if she has not quite, and that thing has not been broken off of her. She finds out later in the relationship, something happened, he goes off of it. He hits her. But if it was a nice guy, but you never brought out the spirit, our, the thing that was upon you that you may not have no because of a lack of knowledge, which causes people to perish.
Dr Ruth
00:15:24
That lack of knowledge that, Hey, I have a spirit of abuse that is being released out of my being. So that's where the self awareness comes in. That's why, where this summit comes in and having an understanding of what's operating in your life and being able to be in, find what you need and then through the word of God or, or a teacher or a mentor to help see what's going on and help you get past that. So then not only if something step to you, cause some people can make their mouth say anything.
Dr Ruth
00:15:56
I said this in my podcasts, that's what you can make your mouth say anything. You can look like anything, but the Holy spirit is a dishonor in the instance of a Hart. So he knows what's gone on in that person. He's able to tell you it's the same person. Leave them alone. Different face, same parks that, yeah. So this is something goes in to the self awareness. And why do you need to have a Holy ghost field mentor? Excuse me,
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:16:26
Do you know the, the, I don't want another word, so don't take it wrong. The problem with your spot annuity, doctor Ruth, and again probably is not the right word is you always get to the end of this thing before I can get there.
Dr Ruth
00:16:43
So we'll probably not
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:16:46
Bring this up or some, you know of something, some facsimile, sorry, my son I'm still in Spanglish mode. Yeah.
Dr Ruth
00:16:56
Right.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:16:57
Carlos. Understand the split from the split mine. So maybe I just need you to say it Spanish and let him to translate it. But I would probably come around with some of these things. That'll be very similar, but I want to build to that. Okay. Well you let me, let me, let us build a to that
Dr Ruth
00:17:25
Because I can see half of your faith at the time, like Hollywood right now.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:17:50
My goodness I did. When did that come from? OK here we go. Now let me start with a couple of statements. So the, we can, then we can have a basis too, for our next conversation. Umm self-awareness as a gift that we've all been given, but too often been dismissed is too complicated or, or we deem it unnecessary to really know about generally speaking, I'm not talking about the people here necessarily, but a lot of people that I've talked to recently and you'd be surprised who has fallen into this had know idea what self awareness even was a much less how to really apply it.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:18:28
They just sound, it sounded very psychological or something that was beyond their reasonable understanding. But that was, I'm not talking pastors successful. You don't have been working on this and trying this out. So it's really brought to my attention or something that is very important that I think is very important about becoming self aware as it is this ask the stupid questions. I know that they're question is a stupid question.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:19:02
They don't ask it. Everybody is like, what? No, I don't know if I should ask that because it seems like everybody else knows about it. So I don't ask if were going to become truly self-aware we've got ask the stupid questions. We've just got to lay it out there. You know? And the reason that many people shy away from asking the question is, they're not sure if they are understanding or the answer probably is, is something called self consciousness.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:19:35
We are way too self conscious, which is ultimately negative self Aware is the positives when we're self conscious is ego based. It's its, you know, it comes from a, a, a, a pride. I don't want somebody to think different. I don't want spend, but I do think that I'm weird or that I don't fit in that self-consciousness but when I'm self-aware I know that I can learn it. I know that I can know, but I don't know. So therefore I want to ask the questions and you know, there is no problem that does not have a suitable solution.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:20:13
And that solution is always found in within the circumstances that create the problem. I'm leading us to somewhere. I'll repeat that there is no problem that does not have a solution, but the solution is often found in the circumstances that created the problem. Every problem has a solution, but the solution is in the question. When you ask the right question, the problem itself will reveal the solution.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:20:51
I'm going to make two quotes. One by Steve jobs. He says, if you define the problem correctly, you almost have the solution already. Albert Einstein says we can not solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. Ironically, who is the creator of the majority of our problems? We are we here because we are the ones who have control over our life, where we allow in what we allow ourselves to think.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:21:25
Thoughts, I'm going to challenge you. Thoughts. I do not change anything. Thinking is what changes thought's can come in. But that is not a good thought. That's not the right thought. That's not the kind of person I need to be with tying all of us together. So I think about it. And as a man thinks, this is, that is what he will. Become go ahead, take it.
Dr Ruth
00:21:54
I'm laughing because this morning, guess what I was reading in my quiet time, I was reading about Ellie, Hugh and job with Ellie. When Ella who began to argue with job's three older friends and Joe telling him that God does not discipline. U if you have not done anything and you're arguing with him asking him, like he's a human being, why he said all these things to you and everything that you argue with him about that's your problem.
Dr Ruth
00:22:27
And otherwise it's already what's your already, you already have the answer to first of all of the problem is that you are thinking of God, he's a human being at he's one of us. He's God. He say you are, your answers are all ready in what you're saying. When it goes back to what you just said, you already have the answer, which is what a coach does, or a coach points out what you already know. And so it's like when Jesus told that the Sanhedrin council I'll say it where you already know that I'm the son of God.
Dr Ruth
00:23:01
You just don't want to. Except it. You don't want to upset what you already know. Put the mirror up. You know, your hair is a mess, put a mirror up. You know, you need to put on a hat this morning.
Dr Ruth
00:23:33
And sometimes we need someone to help us or to point out what we already know. We're running from the truth that we already know.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:23:43
And you had to run from the problem. But the
Joshua T Berglan
00:23:46
Problem has to say,
Pastor Carlos
00:23:52
What is that? Same wherever you go. There you are. So you come on here, come on here. And with the right questions, the solution reveals itself. Thank you.
Joshua T Berglan
00:24:05
How about this? Think about all the bad relationships you've had in your life. And you give and or, and you have, or do you have a friend that's in a bad spot in their relationship and your able to give them this brilliant advice, this amazing wisdom of what they should do, two in their relationship. In other words, I run for the Hills are whatever it is. But then when you're faced with that same situation, how many times do you take your own advice? Almost never. So to your point, yeah, we do know the answer. We are absolutely know.
Joshua T Berglan
00:24:35
We're just afraid of it. Sometimes we don't want to ask a stupid questions, even if its to ourself,
Pastor Carlos
00:24:43
Right? That's a good point to that own self. Be true. Oh God, why come on
Joshua T Berglan
00:25:03
And timid what's going on in Caroline? Are you okay? Yeah.
Pastor Carlos
00:25:11
So deep it touches people in a good way. Just thinking about the vaccine right now, I'm thinking about the vaccine that he's created from the job itself. Every vaccine that's created, let's talk about, let's see it's being created from the job itself.
Pastor Carlos
00:25:49
Every vaccine that we have taken any, any name, it measles, polio, whatever it is, every vaccine is created from the problem itself from the job itself, told us the medicine to you or whatever it is is ailing. Alien You is from that, which is alien to you. Jesus Christ himself can mad himself so he can pay full <inaudible>.
Pastor Carlos
00:26:36
I need I'm heading somewhere. So when we are looking for solutions, two, our own problems and we go out seeking for gurus and people who seem to be doing very well, who have never walked our path. They've never experienced what we are experiencing. We pay a lot of money, especially enterpreneurs to get solution from people who have no idea where you come from has never been to your country.
Pastor Carlos
00:27:14
Don't know anything about who you are. Then you look for solution to your problems from those kinds of people and you fail, fail. You ask yourself the question, why is it that so-and-so is succeeding? We were in the same masterclass in everything. It could be That that which was provided at that time was based on truths or problems that that individual faced.
Pastor Carlos
00:27:49
And that's why that solution was suitable for that because I know every problem has. You said no problem is without a solution. The solution is found within the problem. Christians, wonderful people all over the world, believers, whoever you are, whatever it is, you, whatever problem you have, the solution is found. There it is. People are the same people who cost you.
Pastor Carlos
00:28:21
The problems are going to help you to find the solution. So we need to focus on where we are with the people that we have been given to find solutions to our own problems. Yeah.
Joshua T Berglan
00:28:36
Very good. Oh my gosh. This is why are testimonies or so powerful? This is why are secrets or the gift to the world? That is just so beautiful. Oh my gosh. Wow. Very good. Very good life for a reason. Yeah. All these are statements. He has that beautiful truth. It's a construct as something great for this course. Wow. That just that's heavy, but in a good way.
Joshua T Berglan
00:29:10
Yes. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. So like the vaccine, as in the germ, jesus' came to be said to save us from sin. There is in the problem. Very good. That's just been added to the course is really lucky out. Remember it to give you a credit for it? Well, no, here's the thing. This is transcribed in her. Name's attached to it. So dr.
Joshua T Berglan
00:29:41
Henry,
Dr Ruth
00:29:42
This is not just a course. I'm sorry. Its no way you can teach all of this in a course. It, it is no way this way. This is a school. I said it privately privately it's time to transcribe. I'm seeing it. This is a school. This is there a school Dean Henry amen. And guy Henry.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:30:12
Right, right.
Dr Ruth
00:30:15
My God
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:30:18
Let's let's keep moving forward before we get it done that too much. Yeah.
Dr Ruth
00:30:26
Woo.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:30:29
Here's one that I've had to deal with, you know, at different stages of my life and lack of self awareness will always push us away with our relationship with ourself. If we don't know who we truly are, we we'll live someone else's version of our life. We must love ourselves. Despite what you know, maybe much of the church has tried to teach us. And again, I'm not anti church. I'm just anti-religious I'll repeat what we must love ourselves.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:31:03
Despite many times with the churches tried to teach us to put on under the flash, which does not mean to diminish our self awareness, to put down in the flesh deals more with the non fruitful thinking and carnal desires than it does our body, which is the temple of the Holy spirit and our self worth whom Jesus died for Mark 1230, 31.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:31:33
And you must love the Lord, your God with all of your heart, all of your soul and all of your mind and all of your strength and equally love your neighbor as your self. No other commandment is greater than these are the Bible. Jesus is commanding us that the key to loving others is to love ourselves. And that is through self-awareness. I just talked about this yesterday or last night, it wasn't a podcast.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:32:06
And it was talking about all of these things that I thought were true about myself, that I had identified myself with how the process of learning to love myself, revealed that a lot of these things that I thought were true, we just weren't. And when I started to choose to make loving decisions for myself, all of a sudden my perceptions completely changed the things that I thought I wanted or needed it. And relationships changed as I started to love myself.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:32:38
I also not
Joshua T Berglan
00:32:40
On purpose because I fought some of the stuff I hung on to a lot of it with dear life. Even after getting my life to the Lord, because it was like, I just was comfortable and a certain way of being, but through loving myself, I'll be like, wait a second. I don't know. I don't want that. I don't need that anymore. Like I know that's not who I am and it changed everything and it didn't. And I, and all of a sudden now I'm lining up with, you know, the, the word of God, but I didn't do it on purpose.
Joshua T Berglan
00:33:11
It happened from loving myself. It was a, it was just a minor. Its been a mind blowing experience. These things that I just were certain that's who I was. And it changed with loving myself there. And then also in turn now I'm able to love other people. Now I'm able to have empathy. I'm learning. I'm not great at it yet, but it's getting better. Yeah. Its been an amazing thing to your point. Dr. Henry loving yourself is a very powerful, powerful thing.
Dr Ruth
00:33:40
It is. It is. And we'd sometimes have accepted things that are not true about ourselves. I'm insecure or I'm shy or I'm some yeah. When, when you walk in God's kingdom and him in his word and in his promises, we are all of these things that he says we are. And the only way we can accept who he says we are is we have to love ourselves because God is love.
Dr Ruth
00:34:12
That's all for it. You know the interesting thing. When, when you first brought up a subject, I pull up the scripture a to love your neighbor as yourself and that's of course found and Mark 1230, two 31 and Mathew 22, but it's also a little bit against 19 and 18. So the Lord is emphasizing. One of the things that like was I do personally, what I do personally is in his image consulting from is you uncover, discover and recover.
Dr Ruth
00:34:42
You're a God given identity and a reason for living and heres the deal. There's so many people that are out in this world, performing things that somebody else wanted them to do. And they, they hate themselves. They hate their lives. This is why you have the Robin Williams. He had it all. So, so the world thought, but he was miserable because maybe that's not what he really wanted to do with his life. Maybe that wasn't his actual God given car.
Dr Ruth
00:35:13
Maybe he had to come to a pivot in his, a pivotal point in his life. And he didn't know what to do next because I'm a funny man. That's all I have to do in this light. I'm a funny man. Not, not knowing that maybe that wasn't all the, he had to offer this world. Maybe that was not his only, or maybe it wasn't his purpose at all. You know? And a lot of times the reason why do you have so much, so much killing and things going on because people don't love themselves. So they can't love anybody else.
Dr Ruth
00:35:43
And before all of that, God is love. So you have to know God in order to actually love, to love yourself, to know who you are. We were created in his image and likeness. So Genesis tells us. And if you don't understand what his image and likeness is and you can't appreciate yourself, you can't love yourself. You can't love your neighbor. What am I saying with that? What I'm saying with this is it's a, he hears with it. What am I seeing? What I'm saying?
Dr Ruth
00:36:15
I am trying to get my word's correct. What I'm saying here. A lot of times, the reason why people have such negative viewpoints of themselves, it's because they are basing it upon what someone else told him. They were like you said, Joshua with a mental illness. And not just that I'm different. That may be something happened to me. And I was traumatized, traumatized you Nick. And this trauma created this person here, but that's not who I really am outside of that trauma. God, who am I? And you have to get in touch with who God is in order to understand who he created you to be.
Dr Ruth
00:36:50
Like I mentioned early on that I hated my name because I didn't understand what it meant and because other people tease me about it. Yes. Once I found out with my name, then I took on a whole new mindset and I began to discover me. I began to discover the unique, extraordinary me. Each person was created for a purpose, a uniqueness and an extraordinary, a, a position in life. And when you understand that, then you can develop and find out answers to your own problems as find out solutions.
Dr Ruth
00:37:27
Because now you understand the role God has for, you may not be, but he has for someone else. And now I can understand my path and go down that path and not become someone else. Our version of me that God never designed me to be. Hmm. Yeah.
5
00:37:44
Amen.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:37:47
And then a very good Carlos Caroline. It is good. And it's good to know. Thank you. I'm not a copy, like a doctor, a guy here. And he said, but I'll be taking notes or fair enough. Okay. We continue. All right. Second Corinthians 13, five again, you know, everyone knows a scripture, but examine yourselves. I have that underlined it in bold. I don't need to examine.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:38:17
Joshua examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourself, Shirley. You know that Jesus is And among you. If not, if you have failed the test of genuine, I love this. I love this verse. I talk about staying in your lane. Wow. Yeah, because we are all unique. How can we compare ourselves to others?
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:38:47
We never can. We can only compare ourselves to Jesus because he is the one who is revealing, examine yourself. Hmm. To see if your faith is genuine. And this is part of self-awareness. That's why I'm bringing this in. Surely you know that Jesus has in you and among you. And it's not. You've failed. The Tufts have genuine faith. Oh, you see what we all have been born. And we have come into this world, this life for a Kingdom mission, every single one of us and the place and the people in your life are a result of your decision.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:39:27
But your mission purpose does not change. Let me say that again. So we could talk about it this a little bit. We all came into this world right now this time, not by any kind of accident and not by any kind of coincidence. The moment that God's thought have us in the attorney, the past was for this specific time. Now we know that we can make decisions. We can make bad decisions. We've all made a few of those. And that changes the place and the people that are in our life.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:40:01
But it does not change the mission purpose that we've been called too.
6
00:40:06
Right?
Dr Ruth
00:40:09
And this, we know that all things work together. Well, the good of them then love God and a call to his purpose. Even with the craziness, the bad things that we attract. And I was thinking about, I didn't know you were gonna bring this up, but I was thinking about this morning when people, Mary people that they may find out later, they shouldn't have never married if it happens. Yeah. So if you have those two people that are willing to work it out or willing to walk it out, even that I may have, the wrong person can turn into, I may have the right person.
Dr Ruth
00:40:50
If you are willing to put God in the center and work at having a full, full and successful marriage, thus your life, that's your life.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:41:00
Sure. You can't. You can. But if, if not, you know, that's what we have to face. You know, the ultimate reality. If someone is not willing to put themselves in agreement for that, then there's also no sense in forcing that to stay, you know? And I don't want to get into all the doctrinal stuff, but you know, I know I've been there when, when the two will not agree in, it will not walk together the strife.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:41:32
Oh,
Dr Ruth
00:41:34
He's always, he always freezes and this pose notice, Oh, come on. Wow. This is the longest he's ever been frozen. I know.
Dr Ruth
00:42:05
Okay. So what was he saying? Joshua the last thing he said is if two cannot agree, then they cannot walk together and then he froze.
Joshua T Berglan
00:42:22
Yeah. I want to stay away from that subject. Cause I, I mean, well, if one, it will take us off of course, but like that's not an area I'm versed in. I mean, I make so many decisions, relationship decisions out of codependency and brokenness and like needing somebody to try to complete me realizing that that aint going to happen ever. Right now, there is no woman. There's no personal on this earth. It can complete me. So I've got to go through my own healing journey.
Joshua T Berglan
00:42:52
Become complete with Christ. And then I can attract the right person that belongs to me. You know? And that is, I think about this all the time with all of the man, I married somebody that didn't know Patrick, my man here was familiar with that situation. That was a wild story. That was all broadcasts. But I wasn't, I wasn't ready. Like even that I got this vision, like, I didn't know about you wait on a vision, like a vision was about the future, not tomorrow.
Joshua T Berglan
00:43:25
So, but I think about the work after that, marriage have forced this mirror up to me of realizing I'm not the man that I wanna be or that I need to be, to be able to attract anything really good and solid and whole in my life because that's a simple expression like attracts like is, is, is probably overused, but it's so true. And all areas of our life, business partners love friendships opportunity like attracts.
Joshua T Berglan
00:43:59
Like, so it would be the man in the craziest thing is the, in the inspiration I got from that came from a guy that's probably 24 years old. And I heard him say, one time, he wouldn't date. He didn't get involved with anyone until his finances or in point has, you know, to his credit was Good he can buy a house, it can do all of these things. And so when he was the man that God created him to be, then he had something to offer. Then the people he was attracting, there is a allowed him to make healthy choices, not broken ones.
Joshua T Berglan
00:44:35
And that had such a profound impact on me. It helped me stay single for a little over a year to do the work to heal. There was powerful.
Pastor Carlos
00:44:43
It is. I would like to take us back to love. I was looking at definitions of love and all of the definitions that I have seen are always projected to someone else it's projected outward and not in one. And, and, and I wonder whether we as a human race or we as a society have failed to learn how to laugh at yourself because every definition associated with the word love has always been two words, something or someone else not in word on the other side of these is selfishness has always been projected to loving yourself too much.
Pastor Carlos
00:45:41
In some places people would say, Oh, you love yourself too much or selfish. So when we speak about self awareness and now I want to go into self awareness and tied this together with what Joshua was talking about. When we talk about self awareness and preparing ourselves to be, as Andy Stanley says, here's the Andy Sam. He says, be the person, the person you're looking for is looking for.
Pastor Carlos
00:46:18
So when we become self aware, then all these definitions that are associated with love to hold dear, to cherish, to fill so much passion, devotion, and tenderness for ourselves two, like, and to desire and to take pleasure in who you are to thrive in who you are.
Pastor Carlos
00:46:48
I'm just changing the definitions because it always projected to somebody else. If I projected it to myself and I say, turn it around. And I say, instead of, instead of saying two, feel a lot of pressure to feel my own passion for myself, the things that I want to do. If I am an entrepreneur, to feel the love and passion for this thing that I want to do, as the Bible says, love the Lord, your God, with all your mind and all your heart, your soul, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Pastor Carlos
00:47:18
And to love myself so much that if there's anything in me that is not aligned to the value system and standards, that I am quickly able to change it and to take on new behaviors. Just like when a guy who is pursuing a, a, a girl that you would shave, you we'll do all of these things. You would change our wardrobe or just so you can please have him.
Pastor Carlos
00:47:53
And when you do the same for yourself and you become self aware of who you are, then you begin to become that person. And you begin to become whole, you begin to become at the person who have been looking for weather. It's a business partner. You become that business partner who has that back office in Czech, who is always on top of their game in, is really delivering.
Pastor Carlos
00:48:26
It is doing well. Then you become the person. The person you're looking for is looking for, that's not me. That's Andy Stanley. So if your quoting, if you caught him, right,
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:48:40
Samuel Welcome sail miles, Monroe taught a lot about a man, fully loving himself and creating and conveying a vision and getting on that path first and only then entertain a partner that wants to help him get there. I, yeah, that's when I first started learning about Kingdom principals, it came from dr. Myles Munroe and that right there stuck out for me. A powerful question for me, who was my neighbor Christ Mike drop moment.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:49:15
Magic. That was a beautiful Cher Caroline. Thank you. Thank you. So a Dr. Henry, we get a couple of minutes left. Okay. I dunno. My internet went completely out. There was non and then it was so it's all good, man. We, we improvised had a nice discussion. Good. Where do you want me to come in at Well I gotta, I have my own, not necessarily on my own, but a compiled definition or what I think or simplified definition of self-awareness maybe a we can add on that a little bit.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:49:53
It sounds good. Then we'll try that. Let doctor Ruth come back and again, with some of those thoughts that she was sharing, because I believe that that it'll all tie together really well. First of all, self-awareness and I mentioned it early is not the same as self-consciousness self consciousness is ego-based, which is only, which only focuses inward self-awareness does not cause us to fixate on ourselves, but to better understand ourselves and our, you will Nicky that uniqueness.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:50:28
I got it. Our uniqueness in the way that God created us. Sometimes the words are, they are faster in Spanish. Now self-awareness is the ability to think about yourself and how and why you think that way you see, there's always a reason why we think the way we think in it's because of something that has happened or something that someone has told us, or some lie that we believed or some misconception, because they saw us portraying something that we worked.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:51:01
And next thing you know, we got labeled that. So we have to know why we think this way. Why are we responding to this kind of a person when we don't respond that way to another kind of a person, it is the gift of self knowledge. Self-awareness as a gift of self knowledge. It which becomes self knowing. See, we were so preoccupied by knowing every one. We don't know ourselves.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:51:33
Hm. Wow. This is a good statement. James told me a Coke,
Dr Ruth
00:51:42
Right?
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:51:43
The kids are here. Oh God, sorry. Self-awareness it is having thoughts, but not becoming them. Self awareness is the ability to disengage autopilot thinking and fly on your own life manually. Wow. Wow. Just because you think it does not mean you have to catch it.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:52:14
The statement is just how I am is a lie. It has never come on, man. Self-awareness is based on the idea that you are not your thoughts, your thoughts enter, but the entity observing your thoughts. We are the entity observing our thoughts. We are the thinker separate. And apart from our thoughts, we are the thinker. So again, as a man thinks, that's how he is and that's how he will be.
Carolyne A. Opinde
00:52:49
Okay. Those are my, some of my final statements. Time for discussion on any of those. Yeah.
Dr Ruth
00:52:58
I love what you said. Umm I was listening to a lady teach on sails the other day. And she said, you have to escape the ant mentality. In other words, always negative spanking. And how you used when you spoke about self-awareness versus self-consciousness self-consciousness and a negative connotation that, you know, Oh, Umm to this Umm to that. So I do this, I can't do that. We think about sales, you know, I'm too shy.
Dr Ruth
00:53:29
So I can't go and sell someone something. And if I just think of how our Lord has brought that all, you know, I was born in as a carpenter, I can go and I can't go speak to these people of great, the Sanhedrin. I cannot go, yeah, I can do this. I can do that ourselves. A consciousness, you know, Oh, something's wrong with me? And the Bible tells us in Romans 12 and three, it says by the grace given me, I say to every one of you do not think of yourself more highly than, but think of your self with sober judgment.
Dr Ruth
00:54:08
According to the measure of faith, God has given you. And otherwise we are to be balanced. Then I thought, and the understanding and becoming a way of who you are, you have to again, love yourself. What is that? Look like that it looks like it I'm tired and I can't help you today. Even if I would watch it, I need to say no. I need to love myself enough to say know and go and get me some risks. What we call it on the mental health feel.
Dr Ruth
00:54:38
And I, when I'm teaching pastors now self care, teach the people how to pray for themselves. So they won't call. You had been stuck in a tree. And can you pray for me what to do, what to do this, this, this is great leaders to take the pressure off of themselves. They teach us how to become great leaders. And that looks like I'm going to teach you what it means to love yourself because we come into a sinful.
Dr Ruth
00:55:13
Wow, hatred it off the bat, that the devil start to teach us to hate ourselves. We were created in it, the image and likeness of God and the devil hates God. So he's got to teach. God's people have to hate themselves to teach them how to love themselves. As Christ loved the church and gave himself. What does that look like? I love myself enough to stay true to the assignment that I've been given from God, I can't get D card by your problem, by your promise.
Dr Ruth
00:55:48
I'm pouring into what you need at midnight. When you get stuck in a tree, you going to get you that's all.
Joshua T Berglan
00:56:09
And you take my breath away. You and Caroline, both. Jeez. Unbelievable.
Dr Ruth
00:56:21
Are you kidding me? There always fire. Every
Joshua T Berglan
00:56:24
Time they come up.
Pastor Carlos
00:56:25
Yeah. Just give them their own show that I'm self aware.
Joshua T Berglan
00:56:40
Oh my gosh. You guys
Pastor Carlos
00:56:43
That doctor prophet Ruth. I know. I'm just thinking of all those prayer lines were these thousands and thousands of people waiting for the past and the men of God to lay hands on them so they can be healed or so they can be delivered or whatever it is to be able to get me started on that one. I just making a comment.
Pastor Carlos
00:57:19
I wasn't going to go deeper into the theology of that. That was just thinking how long sometimes our services go on and on and on because we awaiting for this one man of God or a woman of God to lay hands on us so we can be Well so we can, so we can buy that house. We can by a car so we can, I want kids can do well in school.
Pastor Carlos
00:57:52
And we stand in line and then men and women have God who should be preaching the gospel to people who are lost on the streets. Or we spent hours and hours in church waiting for them to lay hands on us. My question is, why does the guy that's doing that? Think that he used the one that has to do that. <inaudible> I'm just asking one for can cover 500.
Pastor Carlos
00:58:22
Yeah. I've got a plan. I'm sorry. I'm start up in reading from what dr. Ruth just shared with us now in what the Bible says, I think about it requires thinking, not the thought, because those don't change anything. This is, this requires thinking, wow. I was thinking loudly.
Pastor Carlos
00:59:02
Right? Rule was that last statement? It just popped up. Right?
Joshua T Berglan
00:59:07
I'm in love with my excuses.
Pastor Carlos
00:59:11
So funny. Oh my God.
Joshua T Berglan
00:59:14
And I make myself as a victim. That is so true. That's good stuff. All people born, Today capable Kings, but raised with peasant thinking. Alright. I said, we must renew our minds to know who we really are. Well done. Well done. Right, Right. Oh yeah. Juliana. This is, this is what this is. It's it's unbelievable. Like what, what I take away from this every week. It's it's this is what it is. It's incredible.
Joshua T Berglan
00:59:45
And every week. Yeah. And it's none of its place and rehearsed. Yeah. Yep. True, true reality TV. It would be a little more about it. I, I said this before, this is the church. This is what the church is meant to be. There is no walls here.
Joshua T Berglan
01:00:15
And we have people from all over the world here. And you know, and this is, I think this is something that would make, I think Jesus was very happy. Seen this because this is all real life practical stuff were talking on a level that some of it's really, really deep. But I think even non-believers understand what we're seeing right now. And to me, that's pretty special. And that's what I'm saying. That was the most, my half of my outline on self awareness. Wow. This is only a half, but you've got to get in the chorus to get the rest.
Joshua T Berglan
01:00:51
And then Samuel I. Love it. When you're here, man, you're gonna have to join that. You're gonna have to join us a next Friday. If you want to a man, even Patrick that's. Yeah, I know script's for me ever. Umm there's just no way. I'm just really grateful for all This I, our hours up guys' I mean, you wanna continue or do you want to shove this for next week? What now, Dave? Joshua what is going on? What do you mean no date?
Joshua T Berglan
01:01:22
What did you leave? The kids are here are locked him in the, there I'm actually surprised they didn't that I I'm shocked actually. Yeah. Yeah. I do. We have Laura with a marble bowl. So there going to get marbles for this now. OK. So, Oh really quick, Patrick. So Patrick asked about the Morgan camera's shop. So all of that, you get to say, I don't know if you hear this, but so a few years ago in Los Angeles, I've got a, I was walking down sunset Boulevard and like look at this building and was like, Oh, that's cool.
Joshua T Berglan
01:02:03
And then kept the walk in. And then all of a sudden I heard turn around and I turned around and I saw this building and there's the Morgan camera shop. And God gave me this very, very detailed division for this building. And so people, a lot of people we'll check in just to go, you know what to do with the Morgan camera's shot because it's the years have gone by now, since all this happened, I've marched around it. I've done all that with it. But Patric, to answer your question.
Joshua T Berglan
01:02:33
Yes, that's it. Ah 66, two seven four West Hollywood, California. And why its the most recent riots damaged the building more, but by the grace of God, our nonprofit, the Live Mana Worldwide Foundation has partnered with another foundation. And now we have all of these other foundations that are starting to work with us in a variety of ways. And a last week we got connected with somebody in Los Angeles that what they do is with nonprofits as they go in and take those old buildings, refurbish them and put them to use on behalf of the community.
Joshua T Berglan
01:03:13
And we took a giant step forward to getting the Morgan camera shop. So the other, so we're getting that is very much alive on that vision. And we will have that. We will have the youth program that teaches GEDs, all things, media too, come out of the cycle of poverty, provide, give them a voice, a voice for the voiceless. And Umm after we get that, after we get the Morgan camera shop, we will duplicate that building all over the world, Miami, London, Sydney, Australia, Tokyo, Japan, you know, city, Miami, San Diego, Dallas used the word <inaudible> Do you guys know Patrick?
Joshua T Berglan
01:04:06
Do you know what's up? Umm you know, it's listen, its, I want to tell everybody out there that are watching. I always feel led to say this, but I mean I'm spilling lead to say it now, wherever you're listening from and watching from those dreams and visions that you get are not God mocking you it's God showing you what's possible. What's available for you. All you have to do is be obedient and take those steps and faith in God will make it happen. Amen. Amen.
Joshua T Berglan
01:04:38
Wow. This man has been, this has been a growing and I in, in many ways is like a, a, a flower or has been opening more or more of showing the life of the beauty of what the Lord and a warm and we are. Thank you guys. No, thank you pastor Everyone today. Good stuff.
Joshua T Berglan
01:05:10
