Sodium-ion battery was discovered in 1807 by an English chemist and inventor Sir Humphry Davy, but the actual development took place between 1970~1980s. At that time Mr.John B Goodnough already discovered the commercial use of lithium batteries, which had shrouded the ongoing development of sodium-ion batteries until 2020.

Today all major battery manufacturers in China are investing in Natrium batteries, including HiNa Battery Technology Co., Ltd., Sunwoda Energy Technology Co., Ltd, Svolt Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Do-Fluoride New Materials Co., Ltd. as well as foreign companies like Natron Energy, Faradion Limited, and Tiamat Energy.
🔺 Future Forecasting 🔜 :
The Chinese Sodium-ion battery development white paper forecasted the growth will reach 369.5 Gwh in 2026, with a market value of 150 billion CNY. There are some advantages Sodium-ion batteries have over Lithium-ion Batteries
