Opening of Lithuania's First Energy Generating Noise Barrier

This August marked the official opening of Lithuania's first energy-generating sound barrier, which is also one of the first of its kind globally! 📢

The 22.2 kW noise barrier with solar modules located on the LTG Infra railway line will produce up to 14 MWh of energy per year.

The 70-meter-long wall is equipped with 60 SoliTek solar modules, installed in collaboration with "StalCorp" and the transport infrastructure project developer SRP projektas, UAB. ☀️

This is not only an effective way to combat noise but also an excellent example of finding new ways to produce renewable energy, especially in non-urbanized areas! 🏙️

SoliTek R&D Participation in the BIG LEAP Project

Our R&D team is actively participating in the BIG LEAP Project , a 42-month initiative that enhances Second-Life Batteries (SLBs) by addressing interoperability in Battery Management Systems (BMS).

Here’s how SoliTek is contributing:

🔋 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆: Providing first-life batteries for energy storage.

⚙️ 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Developing methods to assess and reuse older batteries safely.

🔧 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲: Designing modular energy storage systems.

📜 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀: Contributing to guidelines for broader technology adoption.

By the way, Kristina Meskereviciene and Gediminas Pranskunas represented SoliTek at the 2nd General Assembly meeting in Ninove, Belgium last month, where they discussed the accomplishments of the project's first six months and laid the groundwork for the development of technical details.

Italy's "Transizione 5.0" initiative, part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), is promoting European-made sustainable and innovative energy systems. 🍃
