Somos Art - Koala Project

As part of our #CulturalBridge's program, we were honoured to be part of The #KoalaProject. This is an initiative of the Australian Embassy in Mexico, where three indigenous artists from the north, centre, and south of Mexico, will decorate beautiful fibreglass sculptures in the shape of a koala.

The intention behind this project was to raise awareness of the ecological problems that indigenous groups in Mexico are experiencing by exposing one of Australia's endemic species that is on the verge of being considered endangered.

At the time of publication, these three sculptures have not been finished. When they are finished and out to the public, we will update this article to reflect the final work of the project.
