Spandana: Harnessing the Power of Vibrations

From Krishna to Cosmos: Unveiling the 12 Universal Laws

Day 2: Theme: The Law of Vibration

"Spandana," which refers to vibration or pulsation, is subtly present in the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. The underlying idea of cosmic vibrations and the dynamic nature of the universe are integral to the philosophy of सर्वमिदं ततम्.

The pervasiveness of the divine essence, which can be interpreted as the underlying vibration or energy that permeates all of existence, suggests that the entire universe is filled with this divine energy or vibration, which aligns with the concept of Spandana. Similarly, the notion of the three gunas (sattva, rajas, and tamas) in the Gita, which represent different types of energy or vibrations influencing our lives, also ties into the idea of Spandana.

The purpose of this article is to create an opportunity for the reader to understand and align cosmic vibrations, with which s/he can achieve greater harmony and balance in life, enhancing our overall well-being.

Understanding the role of vibrations is crucial for personal and professional growth because our thoughts, emotions, and actions emit frequencies that shape our reality.

Vibrations are the energetic signatures that resonate from everything in the universe, including our own beings. They influence our mood, decisions, relationships, and overall well-being.

By recognizing and harnessing the power of vibrations, we can align ourselves with positive frequencies, fostering a more harmonious and productive life. This knowledge empowers us to consciously elevate our vibrations, leading to improved mental clarity, emotional stability, and a more fulfilling and successful life journey.

समदुःखसुखः स्वस्थः समलोष्टाश्मकाञ्चनः | तुल्यप्रियाप्रियो धीरस्तुल्यनिन्दात्मसंस्तुतिः ||

This, in essence, means, "The person who is the same in pleasure and pain, who is self-contained, who regards a clod of earth, a stone, and a piece of gold as of equal value, who is equal-minded amid pleasant and unpleasant things, firm-minded, and who regards both blame and praise as one." This verse emphasizes maintaining a balanced and steady vibration regardless of external circumstances, reflecting the essence of the Law of Vibration.

The Law of Vibration states that everything in the universe is in constant motion and vibrates at a specific frequency. This principle can be found in ancient texts and modern metaphysical thought alike. In the Bhagavad Gita, the idea of vibration and its influence on our reality is eloquently expressed through various teachings.

Understanding and harnessing the power of vibration can significantly impact our lives, aligning us with our true purpose and the universal flow.

The Bhagavad Gita speaks about the nature of the universe and the self in terms that resonate deeply with the Law of Vibration. One of the key verses that illustrate this concept is:

उदासीनवदासीनो गुणैर्यो न विचाल्यते | गुणा वर्तन्त इत्येव योऽवतिष्ठति नेङ्गते ||

This, in essence, means, "He who remains like one unconcerned, not disturbed by the qualities (gunas); who, knowing that the gunas operate, remains self-centered and moves not."

This highlights the idea that everything, including our thoughts and actions, is influenced by vibrations or qualities (gunas). By understanding and mastering these vibrations, one can remain steady and undisturbed amidst life's fluctuations.

As a practitioner, I incorporate Tibetan singing bowls and forest bathing into my retreats to help participants experience profound healing and connection with their inner selves.

Tibetan singing bowls can be immensely useful in harnessing the power of vibrations for personal growth. Sound healing, through practices like Tibetan singing bowls, helps in aligning our energetic frequencies, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing mental clarity.

Similarly, forest bathing—immersing oneself in nature—has been shown to lower cortisol levels, improve mood, and boost overall well-being.

Research has demonstrated that sound healing can significantly reduce anxiety and improve emotional health. Studies on forest bathing indicate numerous benefits, including enhanced immune function and reduced anxiety.

Chanting "Om" has been found to activate the vagus nerve, leading to deep relaxation and increased mental focus.

As I continue deep dives into this profound knowledge from the Bhagavad Gita, I express my gratitude for the opportunity to delve into this wisdom and share it with all of you. I feel, this is a great beginning, and I look forward to exploring another aspect tomorrow.

My deepest thanks to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar, whose teachings have illuminated this path and enabled this journey of understanding.
