Spearheading Sustainability

Spearheading Sustainability

Just over two years ago, Sumillion's staff faced the scarcity of plant-based options or even sustainable packaging anywhere near our offices. Preparing food at home seemed like the only solution. As a problem-solver and solutions-provider, Sumillion's CEO David Manners realised that we could make a positive difference, on a grand scale, right on Sumillion's own door-step.

The Manners' family took the lead in bringing Hampshire's Most Sustainable Café to life, researching ingredients, packaging and processes to be able to offer the staff and local community a completely plant-based café. This initiative aimed not only to provide sustainable food options, but to champion sustainability for businesses of all sizes and to provide a sustainably conscious space for local businesses to host meetings. The commitment to sustainability extends beyond the café's menu, serving as a hub for local businesses to host meetings and events, reflecting their own sustainability goals. Many companies choose Vemillion for the catering needs, drawn by the café's dedication to sustainability and its reputation for excellent customer service.

The synergy between Sumillion and Vemillion is a testament to how businesses can integrate sustainability into their core operations while fostering a community-centric approach. Vemillion's commitment to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of its operations, from the carefully sourced plant-based ingredients to the eco-friendly packaging and this shared dedication sets the benchmark for other businesses to follow.

David Manners has shown us that it is possible to create a business that is both profitable and environmentally responsible, proving that sustainability and success can go hand in hand.

As more companies prioritise sustainability, I hope that Sumillion & Vemillion's story serves as an inspiration for others to follow. By integrating sustainable practices into operations and creating spaces that reflect those values, profit and equity can coexist.
