Spine Injuries and Disorders: Causes, Symptoms & Treatments
Spinal cord disorders are conditions that cause spinal cord damage and deterioration. Spinal cord disorders can develop from either the outside or the inside of the spinal cord. Compression of the spinal cord or injury causes damage to the outside of the cord. A bone fracture, spinal degeneration, or abnormalities such as a hematoma, tumour, or herniated disc can all cause compression of the spinal cord.
The spinal cord is a tube-like structure made up of nerves that runs from the base of the brain down the back. The spinal cord, located within the vertebrae (the backbone), transmits information from the brain to the rest of the body. The spinal cord is divided into four sections, each of which can be affected by spinal cord disorders. These sections are the Cervical (neck), Lumbar (upper back region), Thoracic (lower back region), and Sacral (pelvis).
The location and severity of the condition influence treatment for spinal cord disorders. Some causes are irreversible, but treatment under the supervision of your health care team can help prevent further complications.

Spinal Cord Injury
The spinal cord is a long, cylinder-shaped collection of nerves that extends from the end of the brain into the neck and back. The symptoms of spinal cord injury vary greatly depending on the type, degree, and level of injury. The symptoms of a spinal cord injury may not be obvious right away, necessitating immediate medical attention to identify the problem and its scope. The first step is to assess the patient's breathing and pulse rate to ensure that he or she is stable. Learn more about the prevalence, risk, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments of spinal cord injury.
What is Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS)?
The least invasive and most effective surgical technique for treating slipped or prolapsed discs are full endoscopic spine surgery (FESS). MISS (minimally invasive spine surgery) is a surgical procedure for the backbone or spine bones. The term "minimally invasive" refers to surgery that uses much smaller cuts or incisions than standard, open surgery, where incisions are typically long and go down the back. When more conservative approaches, such as medications or physical therapy, fail to produce the desired results, spine surgery is frequently recommended as a second line of treatment for back problems. Learn more about the common endoscopic spine surgery treatment options.
What is Facet Joint Arthropathy and How is it Treated?
Facet joint arthropathy develops as a result of degeneration of the joints that connect the vertebrae or tear of the cartilages that exist between the joints. As a result, motion in the vertebral bones is limited, resulting in pain, swelling, and stiffness. A detailed medical history, including family history, a thorough physical examination, and certain imaging tests are usually part of the diagnostic work-up. Medication, surgery, physical therapy, and self-care are all options for treating facet arthropathy. The treatment primarily focuses on relieving pain and stiffness and getting the patient moving. Learn more about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of Facet Joint Arthropathy.

2yInteresting 🤔 fact… I have suffered of severe spinal cord injuries along with all kinds of related unwanted diseases at least since 2007 when first complained about it, but my family doctor 👨⚕️ that had back then simply cared less about it as ignored all my major pain altogether and acted like 👍🏻 it never 👎🏻 existed to help me with anything right as he could have done ✔️ it. To make it a lot worse, they left me alone on SSDI with limited support and not any proper treatment or right care to be provided. Not even the attached medication 💊 was prescribed yet, and not even by my rheumatologist that have seen since 2009 when moved to Florida from Michigan. Then some “ignorant” (?!) doctors 🥼 seen pretend/ed, pardon demanded: “respect and consideration” but for what kind of treatment I should endless provide that regardless of all poor to beyond negligent care provided, and just act at my end or pretend that I’m not at all hurt 😔 when am in major pain as been quite (badly to severely often to always) miss treated.
