Sportstainment

Can I just start off by saying… what a month it’s been!

From flying to Mumbai to help execute India’s largest Padel tournament to signing one of the fastest-growing sports facilities operator- this edition is all things gameplay.

Just three weeks ago- seems unreal- the team and I took Mumbai by storm by joining forces with PadelPark India and the Indian Padel Academy to pull off the wildest and largest Padel tournament in India- the Summer Slam Championship at 📍 Wings Sports Centre, Bandra.

Witnessing the level of competition and the difference in style of sqush pros and tennis pros that are moving into Padel was nothing short of mind-blowing.

What really excites me about this is how much potential the sport has- for sportspeople and investors alike. For those who might think that Padel is a fad, it’s not. It’s growing, and fast.

With over 25 million worldwide players, the numbers speak for themselves. Even celebrities are starting to invest in the sport- from Ronaldo to Tom Holland. I’m most excited to see who these names are going to be in India.

And personally, it’s one of my favourite ways to de-stress too 😉

And as if the Padel excitement wasn’t enough, I’m beyond thrilled to announce our collaboration with Game Theory - they’re changing the game when it comes to sports (no pun intended!) with their cutting-edge centers all over Bangalore and more cities coming soon.

Which just means that there are no more excuses when it comes to taking care of yourself. I think picking up a sport is a great way to cool off, and the health benefits are a major plus.

Our journey into the sports world is nothing new.

It began with us partnering with ITW Universe over a year ago, diving deep into sports marketing. But the last three months have really highlighted our growing expertise and passion for this dynamic industry.

Whether we choose to admit it or not, the content we make reaches hundreds of millions of people a year and has a real influence on their actions. However, when I think about where we want to influence- from food, to fashion, to automotobiles- we’ve found it most rewarding to work on sports.

Whether it’s Padel, Swimming, Badminton, Squash, Football, or the IPL, we’re working on it ALL at the moment- super excited!

Which sport you are most bullish on in India at the moment? Let me know in the comments below- I’d love to see you on the court 😉

Signing off- Never Slowing Down,

Z

Padel tennis and pickle ball of course are the sports to watch out for, not just in India but globally. I sincerely think that 7’s football has massive scope in India. It’s been hot in the state of Kerala for decades and it’s just itching to spread its wings across the country. Obviously I’m biased towards football, but the scope for 7’s is massive !! ⚽️
