Frustrated by the rampant piracy in music, the duo envisioned a platform that could make legal streaming accessible, convenient, and enjoyable. Their freemium model—offering a free, ad-supported version alongside a premium, subscription-based tier—disrupted traditional music consumption and set the foundation for its success. Today, Spotify’s library boasts over 100 million tracks and podcasts, catering to a global audience.


What is Their USP 😱

Spotify’s unique selling proposition lies in its ability to blend technology with human behavior. Its hyperpersonalization engine ensures every user feels their music experience is unique. By providing seamless cross-platform accessibility, a vast catalog of music and podcasts, and tailored features like collaborative playlists, Spotify sets itself apart from competitors. Wrapped, its yearly highlight reel and its OG Gift to its listeners, add an emotional dimension, strengthening user loyalty. Spotify also deviates from other music streaming platforms by using a hybrid approach in their recommendations; they use both human curation and algorithms. Spotify has perfectly figured out that nothing sells and appeals to consumers like Nostalgia! ✨
