Spotify's New Engagement Metrics in Spotify for Artists
The team at Spotify for Artists have added new Engagement metrics to measure your impact with stats like playlist adds, saves, and intent rate. Let's take a quick look at these metrics in more detail.
Listeners
The number of people on Spotify who played your music.
There may be a small difference between the listener number you see on this page and the number you see on your Stats page.
Streams
The number of times your songs were played for more than 30 seconds.
Streams / Listener
The average number of times your listeners played your songs. A higher streams/listener indicates a higher audience engagement.
Saves
The number of times people saved your music to their library, showing an intention to listen again in the future.
Playlist adds
The number of times people added your music to their playlists, showing an intention to listen again in the future.
These can also be broken down by Country! Well worth taking a look and geeking out.
Have you checked these out yet? Any interesting findings? Let me know in the comments!

2yRight on time! Data is gold in 2022. Thanks for the heads up Mike Warner
Piano composer/Recording artist/Music for Film, TV and Media. Classically trained, I create music that is very cinematic and charged with emotional vibes.
2yI actually like the new features that Spotify has introduced. The streams/listeners ratio is the most interesting to me but the question remains what is considered a great ratio? The feature I like, that is still missing on Spotify but is on Soundcloud, is the ability for listeners to leave comments. You actually have no clue what the listeners think of a particular track on Spotify. I guess Soundcloud is a more interactive platform.
