Spotlight on Crowd for Angels
An interview with Tony De Nazareth, Director and Founder of Crowd for Angels.
Tell us more about Crowd for Angels?
Crowd for Angels is a UK crowdfunding platform that offers companies and investors opportunities to raise and invest funds in different projects. Our crowdfunding opportunities include shares (equity), crowd bonds (debt) and digitalised securities (a form of cryptocurrency).
Since 2014 we have helped dozens of companies to jumpstart and scale their business by assisting them in raising finance from the thousands of investors on our innovative crowdfunding platform.
As a crowdfunding platform from the very beginning our focus has been on innovation and challenging the ‘Trad-Fi’ market.

Why did Crowd for Angels decide to join the UKCFA?
We chose to join the UKCFA in 2015 after seeing their excellent work in advocating for the industry, educating platforms and creating a positive ecosystem for regulated crowdfunding platforms.
By being a member of the UKCFA, we displayed outwardly our ambition and resolve to see the industry grow and support the entrepreneurs and investors of the UK.
Tell us your current take on the industry, what works well and what present or future issues might affect the industry?
The UK has always been a financial powerhouse and a leader in innovation, and the crowdfunding industry is no exception. Over the past decade, crowdfunding has grown exponentially, solidifying the UK’s position as a global leader. While other countries have developed their own crowdfunding sectors, they often look to the UK for guidance and best practices.
Despite this phenomenal growth and widespread adoption, it is crucial to balance opportunity with risk, ensuring that regulation does not become overly burdensome. Moving forward, it is important for the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to consider the sentiment of the industry and incorporate feedback from its members when making policy decisions to sustain the sector’s dynamic growth and innovation.
