A Spotlight On Dear Green

A Spotlight On Dear Green

It started off as a passion for great coffee, now she supplies coffee across the UK and internationally. Here’s how Lisa Lawson built her successful business, Dear Green Coffee Roasters

Established in 2011, Dear Green is a coffee roaster and supplier of specialty grade coffee based in the heart of Glasgow's East End. It all began when Lisa fell in love with coffee after working in the coffee roasting industry in Australia. Upon her return to Scotland, Lisa spotted a gap in the Scottish market - nobody else was roasting coffee to the standard that she had learned. This sparked inspiration to bring something unique and innovative to the Scottish coffee market, leading to the creation of Dear Green.

We’re showcasing Dear Green’s story on-air as part of our STV Business Spot campaign. Check out the below video to find out more about what makes Dear Green different from other coffee roasters.

Championing sustainability with every cup

Sustainability has been at the core of Dear Green’s business values from day one, ensuring that each coffee is not only delicious, but also responsible. From sourcing the beans to recycling and reusing packaging, Dear Green carries an ethical and environmental conscience at every stage. Lisa has committed to reducing Dear Green's emissions to Net Zero by 2030, and has become B Corp certified to develop her businesses green credentials even further. This is helping her to continue to give back to the coffee industry whilst connecting with conscious, coffee-loving consumers.

The perfect blend for business growth

In 2016, Dear Green went on to win Round 9 of Scottish EDGE, giving Lisa access to not only funding, but also additional business support in areas such as pitching. Lisa’s natural ambition combined with Scottish EDGE’s support was the perfect blend for driving Dear Green’s business growth. Find out more about Scottish EDGE here

We caught up with Lisa to chat about her business story in our latest STV Growth Academy session. Check out the video below and visit the STV Growth Academy Hub for more inspiring business stories.
