A spotlight on Elective Recovery: Enhancing NHS productivity amid financial constraints

Elective recovery, or the reduction of long-waiting patients on elective waiting lists, remains a critical priority for the NHS, both at an individual NHS Trust and Integrated Care Board (ICB) level.

However, given the constrained financial position the NHS is facing, the mandate to achieve this elective recovery is simple:

You need to do more without spending any more. In other words, you need to improve productivity.

Although the request is simple, the realities of delivering this are not. At Productive Partners, we specialise in productivity (the clue is in the name!) and recognise that there is no “one size fits all” solution to delivering this.

As a result, we offer a range of support, encompassing everything from improving data quality, analytics, and modelling to full implementation and transformation programmes.

Recognising the importance of building internal capabilities, we have also established the NHS Management Academy. This academy is dedicated to developing the skills and knowledge of NHS teams, empowering them to drive continuous improvement long after our direct involvement has ended.

Through targeted training and development programmes, we equip NHS professionals with the tools they need to maintain and enhance productivity over the long term.

Our mission is to support the NHS in achieving its critical goal of elective recovery. We are committed to working closely with NHS Trusts and ICBs to develop and implement solutions that are both practical and effective, ensuring that they can deliver high-quality care to patients while operating within financial constraints.
