Government incentives will benefit events sector: UKEVENTS chair 💷

UKEVENTS (Org) chair Chris Skeith OBE has suggested the events industry could benefit from government incentives similar to those offered to the UK’s film and TV industry.

Chris recommended a national event strategy to help organisers plan shows when needed and not depend on market demand.

He stressed the need to support organisers, venues, promoters and other event stakeholders to ensure a robust, sustainable industry.

To achieve this, Chris said a range of measures including tax credits and financial support by the UK government would be a big help.

These measures could be along the same lines as offered to the film and TV industry, as well as other creative sectors like video games and theatre.

He also pointed out that any support should be earmarked for the appropriate stage of the event lifecycle e.g. early-stage funding would allow more new event startups to flourish.

MiP’s addition to Arc complements the latter’s existing brands in the network – including Professional Adviser, Investment Week and Global AgInvesting.

Helen Wagstaff MBE , co-founder of MiP, said: “Arc offers a great springboard for our future growth. The network provides us more opportunities to expand our business, whilst retaining our position as the trusted events and marketing solutions partner for the asset management sector.”

Simon Foster , Group CEO of Arc, said: “This acquisition, together with new products like Investment IQ, underlines our commitment to leadership in serving the financial services community. We look forward to welcoming the MiP team to the network and working with them as we continue our commitment to continually developing our offerings for the sector.”
