Stadium Review #6 - SHI Stadium - Piscataway, NJ

SHI Stadium is the Scarlet Knights' Home Stadium for Men's Football and is located in Piscataway, NJ. The venue seats 52,454 and opened in 1994. The first intercollegiate football game, in which Rutgers College beat Princeton (then the "College of New Jersey") 6-4 on November 6, 1869, was played at "College Field", which is now the location of the College Avenue Gymnasium and its parking lot. SHI Stadium is a great large-sized venue to take in a Division 1 College Football game. The crowd was ecstatic Saturday afternoon as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights hosted the Michigan State Spartans in a Big Ten Conference game. The Spartans led the majority of the game but the Scarlet Knights rallied in the 2nd half but it wasn't enough. Michigan State won by the final score of 31-13. The Spartans' Kenneth Walker III had 232 yards rushing on 29 attempts with 1 touchdown while the Scarlet Knights Noah Vedral had 208 yards passing with 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in defeat.

I would highly recommend visiting SHI Stadium if you are ever in Piscataway, NJ and are looking to take in a high quality Division 1 Football game as SHI Stadium is a great venue. Every seat at SHI Stadium has you up close to the action on the field and there isn't a bad seat to be had. I will give SHI Stadium 4 out of 5 stars as the large-sized venue was electric and the fans were very passionate and engaged as well. I am looking forward to visiting Scott Stadium at Virginia next weekend. Until then.
