Staff Spotlight: Ellisha McInnes

This month, Ellisha McInnes shares the best moments in her eight years at Terra Firma and what she enjoys most in her role as Lead Coordinator of Consulting Services.  

Why did you join Terra Firma? 

A previous manager referred me and suggested I apply for my role at TF. There were a few others from the company I worked for who joined TF, so I thought why not? I haven’t looked back. 

What do you like the most about your job?  

I like the flexibility and people I work with every day. There is such a variety of personalities and always something popping up that needs my attention. 

How has your role developed since you started? 

When I began, I was also the bench manager along with supporting the CREs with all I do currently. This was great to be able to meet the consultants and build relationships with each of them. 

My role has had good variety which is really enjoyable. I support Nicholette with reception and events, assist Finance queries for engagements, and liaise with clients on behalf of the CREs as well as the careers team at different times. It keeps me busy and that’s what I enjoy the most. 

What have been some of the highlights over the eight years you've been with TF? 

Whilst at TF, I turned 40 and they threw a surprise birthday party – decorations and all. I was so surprised that I started crying, of course. It’s lovely to know you are thought of and appreciated. I really love the generosity of the company and community feel with supporting different causes, like the Christmas toy drives, Share the Dignity and Lost Dogs Home, which have all been some of my favourite moments. 

How would you describe the culture at Terra Firma?  

We are always trying to create a community within TF, planning a variety of events to keep us engaged. I feel really close to the team like we are a family. 

What are the challenges of working at TF?  

When I am chasing either CREs or clients for paperwork or information whilst trying not to put unnecessary pressure on them. Regular communication is key. 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?  

I would love to go to the Hot Springs in Turkey. We talked about them when I was doing my Beauty Therapy diploma and it’s something that is on my bucket list. 

What's your favourite thing to do on the weekends?  

Most weekends, I am either at a local market with my side business ‘Refill’d’ helping people reduce their single-use plastic waste or spending time with the family fixing our home we bought a year ago on 2 acres.
