Fashion Revolution Week 2022

Stanley/Stella News #2

Not all polos are born equal

With our new Polo Collection, we’ve re-written the rules of the classic polo: organic cotton in an unrivalled choice of colours and dyeing techniques, inclusive styles designed to look and feel great, a new modern fit, and meticulous attention to detail. Just like it should be.

The classic polo is appreciated worldwide, but not all polos are born equal. We’ve remastered this iconic style to show that sustainability, quality, design and durability can go hand in hand. The result is a collection easy to decorate that everyone will be proud to wear, for every reason.

  • A boxier, contemporary fit and a more relaxed sleeve offer comfort and good looks in equal measure.
  • Recycled buttons in a matching colour add a discreet finishing touch, while clean side slits and a neater placket add to the appeal.
  • Not least, our broad palette of colours and dyeing techniques offers unlimited styling options, from muted neutrals and vibrant solid colours to garment-dyed shades.

Fashion Revolution Week: together for a more equitable fashion system worldwide

Fashion Revolution Week is the annual campaign bringing together the world's most significant fashion activism movement - from Monday 18th to Sunday 24th April 2022 - to collectively reimagine a just and equitable fashion system for people and the planet.

Since the start of our activities at Stanley/Stella, we have consistently advocated improving workers' living and working conditions.

Fashion Revolution Week 2022

Fashion Revolution Week is another opportunity to underline our commitment, therefore, we are proud to join with concrete actions, involving also our Official Dealers.

Increasing wages in Bangladesh

Governments set up legal minimum wages in the garment industry. However, these minimum wages do not allow families to cover a decent living standard. The Global Living Wages Coalition defines "elements of a decent standard of living include food, water, housing, education, health care, transportation, clothing, and other essential needs, including provision for unexpected events".

Fair Grocery Shops: our initiative to improve the living conditions of the garment industry workers in Bangladesh

Stanley/Stella's Fair Grocery Shops initiative launched in 2020, offsets workers' cost of living by offering discounted food. Our investments in three factories provide essentials like rice, lentils, oil, salt, and soap at a 40%+ price reduction to over 10,000 factory workers.

We are a company Creating Material Change

MCI 2021
MCI 2021 Level 4 - Leading

At Stanley/Stella, we are proud of having achieved (again) Level 4 in the latest Material Change Index, recently published, for our approach to materials sourcing. Level 4 is the Leading score, attributed to companies that are pioneering industry transformation. It's an extraordinary result confirmed for the third consecutive year.

Climate action starts at the source of the materials we choose. As the largest peer-to-peer comparison initiative in the fashion and textile industry, the Textile Exchange Material Change Index is driving a race to the top.

Did you know that...

Outerwear made from recycled plastic

...all our Outerwear styles are made using 100% recycled polyester and nylon fabric made from post-consumer plastic bottles? And to keep our garments as planet-friendly as possible, we use a safe, fluorine-free durable water repellent to make sure they are ready for life on the go.

It takes between 30 and 80 bottles of plastic to make one jacket from our Outerwear Collection.
