Recently, I received feedback from our development team that was unexpectedly positive. It highlighted their deep sense of engagement and dedication to their work, despite an underlying sentiment of feeling less important and relevant compared to the roles of Product Owners (PO), Project Managers (PM), and business leaders. This feedback was both surprising and enlightening, revealing a persistent sense of inferiority among developers, who perceive themselves as less significant than their product owners they collaborate with.

This feeling of inferiority is far from the reality of whichever organization's structure and goals which lives agile mindset. The truth is, the success of any product hinges critically on the contributions of the development team. Without their expertise, creativity, and hard work, even the most visionary product ideas would remain unrealized.

Development teams are the backbone of product creation and delivery, providing indispensable support through their unique blend of skills and expertise. Their technical proficiency is paramount; developers transform abstract concepts into tangible, functional products. They ensure that software is not only robust but also scalable and maintainable, laying a solid foundation for long-term success.

I had the huge lucky to participate and see how it comes to problem-solving, developers shine brightly. They tackle complex technical challenges head-on, employing innovative solutions to overcome obstacles. Their exceptional debugging and optimization abilities are crucial in maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring that the product runs smoothly and efficiently.

Moreover, they are key drivers of innovation. They often suggest new features and improvements based on their deep technical insights, pushing the boundaries of what the product can achieve. Their keen understanding of the latest technologies keeps the product competitive in an ever-evolving market.

And we can't forget quality assurance model, it is another area where developers play a vital role. They meticulously test the product, ensuring it meets stringent standards and functions as intended.

Collaboration and integration are also critical aspects of a developer's role. They work closely with Product Owners (POs) and Project Managers (PMs) to ensure that the product vision is realized effectively. During planning sessions and sprint reviews, their input is invaluable in aligning technical aspects with business goals, ensuring that every step taken is in the right direction.

That was the message I aimed to convey, and I sincerely hope that, through reflection and active participation in various team ceremonies, his/her perspective will shift. If it doesn't, we will need to implement new initiatives to foster a change in mindset.
